Why do i get the feeling from reading your post that a bag of chips and a pint is classed as a refined night out for you?

you wouldn't catch me with a pint im a girl and not the pint drinking chip eating chav version

I cannot believe that you have a 'Wedding Practice'.

I certainly wouldn't turn up for something as pretentious as that either.

Why do you feel the need to be so rude? This forum is meant to be a nice, safe and supportive place to come and worry about your wedding. If you can't be civil, then maybe you need to rethink your contribution here.

btw a (big) bag of chips is one of my favourite nights out:rotfl:
  • Glad you had a great day SK. People dropping out is a big dread of mine. I know it's only a drop in the ocean moneywise but it's still wasted money not to mention they are other people you might have wanted to invite but couldn't and messing up the table plan (ours was hard!).

Student Advisior- I'm also a chip girl not to mention a pint girl and (as far as I'm aware) not a chav! :)
  • im doing it abroad too then it will hopefully be more relaxed n theres loads of choice in the all inc for everyone :)

I'm just amazed you guys have so many guests to start with.

I'm getting married next Feb (my 2nd his 1st) and we decided on a small wedding with around 35 people. Once we actually sat down and made a list we were struggling to get to 22. Thats mostly immediate family and very close friends and includes us :o Sad or what?

If anybody pulls out we'll be cheaper having the wedding in our front room :p

well our wedding there is er...... 6 of us so far!!! anyone want to come?

  • Why is everyone being so nasty. SK was asking for advice not arguments!

Glad you had a great day honey!

No offense to the 'big wedding brigade' but isn't the day about the couple? And not about the bride stressing over wasted money and friends not turning up!

When i marry it will be all about me, my partner and daughter, not the guests and definitely not the silly amounts of money spent on food for people that are only invited so as to not offend or for the purpose of an extra present!
  • Hi Loz I used to sound like you until I stated to plan mine and my fiance's big day, it sort of takes over you tbh.

Hopefully im not at the stage where im worrying about silly things but I do worry about other people having a good and fun time. I find myself thinking about ribbon and table decs, my shoes, my something blue, all sorts of things actually. Its on my mind nearly all the time, not always in a stressful way but it does def takes over.

Its fun tho and im really enjoying it all but as much as its mine, my oh and my 2 step-daughters day, its also our mom and dad's, my 3 other bm's and all my other friends and families day too.

I hope that makes sense and doesnt sound daft. xx
  • I think you can still have the weding you want, without spending a fortune. Mine is costing £1500 for everything, and we aren't scrimping!

My dress is gorgeous, the venue is amazing and we are having everyone there we want to. The way we have saved is by looking about for things instead of getting the first one I have seen, making all the stationary myself, doing the bridesmaid flowers and buttonholes myself and of course lots of hints and tips from this wedding board!

    Thanks girls! Tiger xx

Did you really have to post this mean comment?
People cancel for lots of reasons. Not everyone has the manners to do this properly. I think the OP is upset enough without you shoving your 'guess' in.
    They posted, I commented,
