I suggest you get this kitten sorted, before you get another 2 of them.

    1. Vets, sounds like you have been, but go back or ring them and explain to them, like you have to us what is happening.
    2. Borrow the puppy crate and use it.
3.Can you ring the breeder or where you got the kitten from, and ask if there is anything wrong with the rest of the litter of kitten.
    4. As someoen has already suggested look at the kittens food.
    5. Give the kitten water only.

    Good luck

I'm in contact with the breeder almost daily! lol She's a lovely lady and has made some helpful suggestions - rest of litter are OK. We have changed his diet, but that is in itself a problem with runny poos.....it's hard to know if it's the food or the change that's the cause.

We are trying to get this sorted before getting the others....

If hes insured and you took him on the 14th day then this will be covered. As far as i understand, It doesnt matter when the symptoms started it matters when it was first diagnosed or noted by the vet.

So is he going to the vets today?

Kittens can become dehydrated very quickly and can become seriously ill or die as a result. Especially as this has been continuing for so long.

Yes - I'm taking half day off work and have an appointment. I'm aware that this can be serious and I really am doing everything I can to sort it out.

  • Brill, let us know how he gets on. I really hope it isnt anything serious!

  • Me too! Apart from runny poo and not using the litter tray as he should he is perfectly happy - looks well - very playful - and bloomin' fast! Moths, bugs and crane flies have no chance in our house! Maybe that's why his tummy is funny? lol

  • I have 2 kittens and for the most part they have been really good at using the litter trays..

Just lately one of the kittens has decided to start peeing everywhere but the litter tray, and its really starting to wind me up as i have young toddlers around

Is there anything i can do to stop this behaviour, they are 5 months and are down to be neutered in November.

Also when can i start letting them out so i can effectively get rid of the litter trays

    Thanks x

Might be worth taking a poo sample for the vet to check for bacteria.

I too wouldn't get another kitten until this one is sorted, just in case it's something that can be transmitted from one to another.

Any chance of confining him to the bathroom?
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • If this is new, it's possible he has some kind of bladder infection. Has he been checked by the vet? If not, that should be your first port of call.

How many litter trays do you have? If its just one, thats not enough, for 2 cats you ideally need 3 trays

Other than tha, if its all of a sudden and up to now hes been good id take him straight to the vet.
