Walks are good in general - just been out for 10 minutes in the very chilly sunshine!

I need a small to do list this week for the vital stuff, here's how it's looking so far:

    House
Clean flat and move last few bits
Email landlady about leaving a few things - done
    Unpack suitcase
Sort spare room for mum arriving

    Work - job 1
    Do E annual report

    Work - job 2
Do another batch of resources - 20 if poss

    Courses and other stuff
    Finish Philosophy assignment
    Do Mentoring course assignment
Read something course-related or otherwise useful for at least 30 mins a day.
    Make a start on blog!

Ok I have been thinking about this blog thing for a while - and have decided to combine two of my favourite things, gardening and philosophy. I hope this is really going to focus me on writing clearly and expressing myself how I want to - one of my big bugbears is that philosophy is seen as mysterious and difficult, because people insist on writing about it that way (see my previous posts on people showing off on my course!)

Anyway, here it is - not posted much yet but followers and comments etc most welcome!

After that, on a standard month with no extra money coming in, if I continue paying the debts at the current level, I would have just over £700 left. I want to have a bit extra to cover Christmas etc, so I think I'm going to aim to pay just an extra £100ish a month to debts until the end of the year, which would bring me down to £7k total to start 2011.

I doubt I actually will spend £600 a month, so whatever's left over can help kick start the debt payments next year - I'd love to clear the rest in a year, but that would mean monthly payments of £583 which would only leave me about £250 spare for everything else. Hmmmm!

I'm glad you've worked it out, Squizz, you can go forward nicely from there.

    Thanks Karma!

Hehe - I found out last night that Mr S is really organised with his money! I've never known him to be struggling, but when we were trying to figure out how much everything cost, I discovered he keeps a list in his wallet of everything he spends during the month - apparently he once went really overdrawn by mistake, and ever since he's kept this note of everything to make sure he doesn't!

It's quite ridiculous to think that between us we are going to be about £500 better off per month from now on

Thats brilliant - now you've had your LBM and its so far behind you, you don't want someone who's not clued up. And he sounds *very* clued up. How great to be £500 better off between you! And that figure's going to be even more once you're debt free.
