  • I considered it, but about two minutes after they replied to my email I got one saying it had been despatched, funny that eh? :D

I've just been in the University library to get some books for my Philosophy course.. ooh I could quite happily just go and sit in there all afternoon reading!

Last night was chaotic - started sewing the bag and my sewing machine had a tantrum - I think the thread was a bit rubbish as it kept breaking and getting tangled up. Eventually finished it and got everything wrapped up, just need to find a big padded envelope and get it posted off today.

The house is all tidy and full of food ready for our visitors. I think we eventually got to bed about midnight after getting everything done and then drinking some wine - feel very tired this morning!

Really hoping I have a quiet day - fingers crossed.

I don't think I've ever seen tinned sprouts - they must be a limited edition? :D

My standing orders for rent and council tax have just come out so I've now cancelled them - might owe council tax a little bit but can sort that out if need be. One month to move house!

Hi all.. yawn I'm tired! The weekend was nice although nothing quite went to plan - we decided to do the DIY bits that Mr S's dad was going to help with on Saturday, and ended up going on a tour of DIY shops followed by not actually getting much done due to faulty tools!

Sunday we were going to have a day out somewhere but it poured with rain all day, so just went our for lunch.. and had to go to five different restaurants before we found one with free tables! Lovely carvery roast though.. yum!

Was lovely to see them all but I must admit it will be nice to have the house back to ourselves this evening!

Quiet day at work I think, which is probably what I need. I start my mentoring course today so can spend a bit of time on that as well as the Philosophy one.

A weird thing happened.. I had a bit of an online spending spree on Friday - I do need some new jeans but I bought a few other things too, and then sort of regretted spending so much. Anyway, I checked my email this morning to find it had been cancelled because they thought it was "suspicious" (I'm not entirely sure why, maybe because it was a Paypal payment with an unconfirmed address?) Anyway, saved by customer services! I'll go and just buy some jeans at some point.

Well, the universe is telling you something there, with a cancelled purchase! Excellent news .... whats the state of the DIY now, tho, is it getting a bit desperate, or just "nice to have it done some time"?

Yes, thanks universe :D Although the universe did not prevent me from finding a lovely vintage shop at lunchtime!

None of the DIY is urgent. We now have a new door for the living room (it already has a door, it's just rather scruffy), which we needed Mr S's dad's car to transport. We just can't cut the door to the required size so will need to find someone to do that. We have new handles on the dining room door and a non-squeaky bathroom door which is progress!

Well as the universe kindly gave me my money back, I thought I'd be sensible and do the same as last month - make a big payment to the overdraft before I get the chance to spend it! So another £100 transferred to there. I'd really love to get rid of it this month - there's another £281.62 to go so not sure if that is doable or not!

Just met my new team at work - there are lots of them! I've been introduced to them before but never really worked with any of them, they seem nice though and there is a good team atmosphere going on. Already been invited to two lunches :)
