As an alternative I would suggest aproaching the school. I know they usually have tons of unclaimed 'lost property' which is usually in very good condition and I know some schools just bag this up and give it to charity shops.0

I said if you read my post, that I dont agree with it where parents can afford designer gear and mobile phones etc for their children yet cant afford school uniform. So i dont need to take my own advice
Thanks.:footie:0 -
It depends on where you are. Im in Edinburgh and just got mine in the form of vouchers. Apply to the local council. Primary school children get £43 high school £50 (I think) You can also pick forms up in schools. The vouchers are only redeemable in a few shops but can also be used in schools to purchase the proper school sweatshirts etc.

Also depends what benefits your on.
....Typical!!! More than we were able to afford for our two girls' entire uniforms that were bought out of ASDA! Huh, but then we work, so why would we be entitled :mad:0 -
... and why shoud adults get clothing grants/social loans when they clearly spend their money on booze, drugs and takeaways, stop generalising!I said if you read my post, that I dont agree with it where parents can afford designer gear and mobile phones etc for their children yet cant afford school uniform. I dont! alot of people who try and claim su grant buy their kids the latest mobiles and trainers etc though! It seems the law every year to moan about uniform prices.
Thats my opinion like it or lump it!:footie:0 -

:rotfl: Hey, if you are happy to continue posting ill informed and ill considered sweeping statements, we'll just stand back and laugh at you.0 -
I dont agree with uniform grants if parents are spending out on the latest mobiles, trainers, footy tops for their kids or smoking.
However some schools have second hand uniform sales which could be looked into as an alternative if a grant isnt available.
and for those of us that don't waste our pittance on the latest mobiles and trainers, footy tops etc?Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
I am not ill informed how many children today dont have a mobile or some sort of designer gear or the latest football strip cant be many.
Laugh if you want you will still have to accept my opinion. Even if children didnt have a uniform they would still have to wear something.:footie:0 -
well mine doesn't and he hates football so will never buy the expensive footie shirts, but you didn't answer my question.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0
