Tigerlilley and kelda your cakes sound fab! I'm still undecided about what to do I was going to get the tesco cakes and get it decorated.
I went to the florist today nearly fell of the chair when she said she doesn't usually cater for wedding in December:rolleyes: but luckily I buy alot of cellophane off her through the year so she's agreed to do them!
I'm feeling way to relaxed about the whole thing, I've still got loads to do, I've not even decided on the favours yet! Do I need to be worrying?
My dress is ready, shoes, I know who's doing my hair and make up, my OH hasn't decided on his suit yet... my pageboy (our 3yr old son) I'm going to get his suit from debenhams and my flowergirls dress. I've got the kids party packs crayons etc to keep them entertained, also bought the champagne bubbles 6 for £1! and that's as far as i'm at!:xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile0 -
Thanks Hels, I'm really excited about my cake now, I have ordered it today. It is costing £105 for three tiers of sponge, and that includes the decoration. The girl who is making it had made lots of different mini cakes up to try the different flavours of sponges, I came out feeling a bit sick because I ate so much!!!
Hels did you get the bubbles from Poundland, I have those aswell, major bargain!!
I think you are doing well Hels although if it was me I would probably be a nervous wreck, although that is just me I can't stand not being organised lol!! I think I get it from my Mum, lol!!
Here's a link to the cake we have chosen, but the crystals are all clear!

Our topper is a monogram one of our initials which I got for £10 on Ebay. It is mirrored and I think it will look fab!
This week I am going to see if I can buy all the makeup I need for the day. Avon have just delivered a book with loads of half price and bargain goodies, so I am going to read it in bed tonight and get some inspiration!
I promise I will put pics on of all the bits I have made tomorrow, just been so busy, I haven't had time!
Hope you are well girlies!!

Its raining & windy here in Scotland at the mo. Hoepfully it'll have calmed down by tonight so i can try it out.
On another note, I told you about the ridiculous quote I got for the hairdresser.
well just got a quote from a mobile hairdesser in the area that has a big advert on yell.com. I called a few places that were mobile but she got back to me & left me an answerphone message within 24 hours.
I called her back and you could hear her kids in the back so I'm guessing this is an extra money earner for her.
Really nice and quoted £10pp to put hair up. £5 for my hair up trial and £6 to blow dry my mum's hair! And then she said, ach just call it £60.
£60 v £365 .. no difference eh!!! I had budgeted £110 for 5 people so 6 people for £60 is brill!
so I'm getting a trial sooner rather than later in 2 weeks so i can see what i think of her. If she's good than at that price I'd be prepared to do a Bridesmaid trail too if they want it! And get the two flowergirls hair done on the day too!!0 -

I'm getting married on 19 Dec in our village church. We're having a meal for 35 people in a gorgeous country pub (log fires, mulled wine, roast goose - all very wintery), followed by an evening reception for about 70.
Oh, and I'm having a red dress, which I absolutely love: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=J1076
I'm not getting married until Aug 2010 but I was just being nosey through this thread. Anyway, I just wanted to say your dress is absolutely gorgeous and I'm sure you will look even better in it. I can't wait to see your photos :-) xBride to Be - 28th August 2010 :dance:0 -
Hi there must stop spending, feel free to nosy, you might get some ideas!
Kelda it is fab, looks even better in real life. They are classing it as a boutique hotel now and for what we are getting for the price we are paying we are quite chuffed, considering they have just started charging for room hire which we don't have to pay, yay!!
