Does anyone know when Eaton Mill School goes back after the summer break? I've marked it in my calendar as tomorrow - but having sent the kids back on the wrong day before, self doubt is now creeping in, don't want to be a laughing stock with the kids AGAIN...
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • I shouldn't think it's tomorrow(but don't hold me to it!) - I've got 2 going back Wednesday(Beds) and one on Thursday (Walton High).

A friend of mine built the website for the school. I shall scold him for not putting the 2006-07 dates up.

I would ring the school (the teaching and support staff should be back tomorrow) to double-check, but Wednesday seems a fairly common day.
  • Hello everyone

Thanks for everyones help - his little friend across the road is sure Eaton Mill is starting back tomorrow (and not a moment too soon) so if he has to make the long walk home again at 9.00, at least he'll have company :)

#2 son starts Lord Grey on Wednesday (although he may not have his blazer as John Lewis had sold out of his size - reackon I'll have to write 'a note'?

Good luck with the car boots MK Madhouse ;)

This is a Ringmaster message from Milton Keynes Police Media.Drivers warned - The road to Mandalay may be busy when Robbie comes to MKThe public is being urged to allow extra time for their journeys in Milton Keynes during the forthcoming Robbie Williams concerts at the National Bowl later this month. There has been months of behind the scenes planning by Thames Valley Police, Milton Keynes Council, the Highways Agency and the Bowl to ensure the roads of Milton Keynes keep moving while the performer’s in town.Robbie’s five concerts were supposed to be held at Wembley’s new stadium. However, because of the delays in re-building the new stadium the concert has been moved to the new city. The dates remain the same - Thursday 14, Friday 15, Saturday 16, Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 September. The promoters are expecting 65,000 concert goers at each show, with half of them arriving by car. Because of the large number of people coming in and out of the city in their own vehicles, the police, council and promoters are asking people to allow extra time for their journeys and avoid routes around the Bowl if possible. The car parks for those attending the concerts open at 9am on each day, with the gates opening at 2.30pm. It is hoped that people will arrive early and make a day of the event in order to reduce congestion during the rush hour period. Those attending the concert and travelling from the north will be directed off the M1 motorway at Junction 15, following the A508 on to the A5 into Milton Keynes. They will then be directed onto the H3 and V4.Concert traffic from the south will get off the M1 at Junction 14, before being directed on to the V11 and H8. From the east concert goers driving to the venue will be told to follow the A422 from Bedford and join the A509 into Milton Keynes. Traffic from Buckingham in the west will be directed along the A421.All of these routes are expected to be very busy and both the police and council are urging people, who are not attending the concerts, to avoid these roads if possible. Many people attending the concerts from the south are being urged to allow extra time for their journey because of the road works on the M1 between junctions six and ten.Silverlink Trains are providing extra carriages on their peak time trains. However, they are urging people to avoid travelling at these times. Local commuters who travel in and out of Milton Keynes to work should be aware that the large number of extra commuters is likely to affect their travelling times. There will be no shuttle bus service transporting fans to and from the train station in Central Milton Keynes. Instead pedestrians will make their way along Leisure Route 51, which will have additional signs and lighting.Details about train services can be found on Silverlink’s website at https://www.silverlink-trains.comIn addition, motorists who will be using the M1 can get any breaking news about delays and accidents on the Highways Agency website at https://www.highways.gov.ukThe council will impose traffic restrictions; some will only apply on concert days while other will be imposed from Thursday 14 September to Tuesday 19 September inclusively. All the agencies involved are urging people to look in the local press for a full list of restrictions and tune into travel reports on the local radio stations to get the latest information.Residents and those planning to visit Knowlhill, Furzton, Winterhill, Bleak Hall and travel on any of the grid roads near the National Bowl or into and out of the city centre on these dates can log on to https://www.mkweb.co.uk/bowl for the full list of restrictions. The full restrictions are also being sent out to businesses, via Business Watch.Note to editors: Please find below the full list of traffic restrictions and their detailsTHE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF MILTON KEYNES (VARIOUS ROADS AND PARTS OF ROADS, PART OF REDWAY/NATIONAL CYCLE ROUTE 51 AND PART OF BRIDLEWAY NUMBER 32 LOUGHTON IN THE VICINITY OF THE BOWL AND KNOWLHILL)(TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ORDER No.2 2006NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes, intends, not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14(1) (b) and 14 (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, because of the likelihood of danger to the public and in the interests of safety and as a means of segregating traffic from pedestrians during the musical event namely the Robbie Williams concerts being staged at The Bowl, Milton Keynes (hereinafter referred to as 'The Bowl'). Bl00dy Robbie Williams... am I the only one who can't understand the hype???

No one can recommend me a solicitor then?
  • Hello MK Moneysavers!
If any of you are looking to pick blackberries or sloes I can tell you that there are bushes/trees groaning with them on the canal towpath between The Galleon (Wolverton) and Cosgrove. Managed to pick 5 lbs of blackberries at the weekend which are now being turned into wine. Happy picking.
  • Can anyone help? I need a painter/decorater/oddjob/man Friday type person! I live in a village on the Beds/Bucks border about 15 mins from CMK. I'm a Single Parent and don't have a man to help! I would like my hall stairs landing painted, I would like a mirror put up, I would like a letterbox fitted and I would like my front and back gate painted and fixed.

    Any recommendations gratefully received!
