I think you get 90% of your salary for 6wks, then 90% for the next 33wks (which is when anyone earning more than £138 a week-ish would be getting the £123.06). So you should get 39wks of £87.300 -
Lady gaga has had 4 songs out I believe....I'm a big fan.....I'll follow her until she loves me, papa papa razzi! I do actually like her music, but then I'm one of those top 40 people. I went to hydro connect festival with a friend last year, what a mistake, there was no bands there I liked except Franz ferdinand and paulo nutini, who were both DREADFUL. Why does he sing like OAP on speed?
All reality shows are hyped, I avoid the celeb mags around this time as it;s full of the BB rejects, and no doubt once dogface is out her paps will be in every paper0 -

Can't stand her, she has a 4th out now. When she speaks she sounds like she is trying to convince herself as much as anyone else. Not to mention everything she does has been done before by numerous people. She's a terrible copycat in the image stakes.
Paolo Nutini :rotfl: Yes, he is advanced in years for one so young.
I don't buy any celeb mags at all. The only mags we have are for the girls like Hannah Montana and the like, and the older ones like cat magazines. I try not to buy too many. Waste of money and the celeb ones are all rubbish. None of it can be taken seriously and i've bought the girls up beleiving that these publications are awful.0 -

Does it have anything to do with tax code? Do they have the right one for you? Sorry if it makes no difference.0 -
I think celeb mags are bad for young girls, I know myself they make you image concious, every one of them has a diet of some sort. They are good bathroom material though, I've read the jeremy clarkson one cover to cover hehehe.
Yeah Lady gaga puts on an act, like she is weird and kooky, she dresses like an eejit, and that's all for show too. Oddness sells!0 -

Ah, so you're getting £97/wk SMP, instead of the £123.06?
£87.30 is 90% of £97 cos I thought you meant you got £97/wk usually when you're at work0 -
no elle i was getting £114 ish so my smp is £97
... sorry did i confuse you ... i didnt think the tax code affected smp motm x
Still searching .....:)

Exactly and although it's going to happen, I want my girls exposed to it as little as possible until they inevitably become adults. It can make the most beautiful women insecure and the older 3 of mine are very popular with the boys, even if they are incredibly fussy girls :rotfl: and the other 4 have their mothers looks as well. Good job they didn't get mineMothers looks and my erm....intelligence? Can I be not so modest? :rotfl:
I've seen the comments on this thread of women putting themselves down, and it's not good. When my girls put themselves down, I tell them off. Men have to be something as well, but it doesn't get talked about as much, bit like single fathers :o I'm not totally secure
Well, it's working for her. Katy Perry said this week that all the Is she/isn't she a man/haermaphrodite furore, has been manipulated by her. In reality it's not the artist, but their management helping it along.
I fail to see the attraction though. Katy Perry - quirky, Britney Spears - absolutely stunning, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Jordin Sparks - great voices, but Lady Gaga...Well, i'm no spring chicken anymore I suppose. In my day Rick Astley was the man :rotfl:
Anyway, I must go to bed. I have an important phone call to make tomorrow.
Have a good nights sleep and good day tomorrow :T0 -

Easy enough to confuse me at the best of times, least of all at 1am!
Nope, tax codes don't really come into it MOTM
Righty, here we go - this is how to work it out.
If you qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) it is paid for a maximum period of 39 weeks. It is paid:- for the first six weeks at 90 per cent of your average gross weekly earnings with no upper limit
- for the remaining 33 weeks at the lower of either the standard rate of £123.06, or 90 per cent of your average gross weekly earnings
Clear as mud!
ETA: Was using your figures, but doing it on a calculator, 90% of £114 is £102.600
