Cheers Shaun - and it's only the 8th, so watch out for the rest of January!

Are you still there Wol? I think the old rockers have finished now.

This old rocker is still here - busy eking out the milk although I will probably have to go and get more tomorrow as I only picked up a litre bottle the other day:rolleyes:

Have spent the day washing (its currently drying in the front room), I have started dis-assembling the christmas tree too (so far 4 baubles removed). Lunch was bacon bits omelette (hey I can live on bacon bits for another week). Need bread as my rye bread has turned into a brick so need to get plastic white bread from corner shop.

More snow this morning and its still icy - loads more snow forecast. I have found a roll of bubblewrap so may be wrapping my windows with it...good tip Wol.

On the prescription front - get yourself a pre-pay certificate as it works out cheaper. My doc is rather nice - I used to work for his dad:eek:

Once i got my head round that life seemed slightly easier!

Have you all posted on the How much have we paid off in 2009 thread?
we have reached the magic million & are hoping to to get to £1.6 million which was the total in 2006.
    Every little helps!

    Hi Beanie

I've got the book but never read it :o...and also the sequel....:o:o

I haven't posted yet but am aware - once i realised mortgage overpayments count I just need to ring up my mortgage company tomorrow and find out how much I;ve been overpaying (I pay a standard amount each month regardless of how the interest rate has declined over the last few years but not sure exactly how much I am currently overpaying by :naughty::naughty:...naughty Wol very non-MSE :o:o )

Also - I have an offset mortgage so have saved money in interest this year - does that count to?

Know what you mean about the snow...I too am now really peeed off and wish it would just thaw...I hate not being able to get anywhere (like the vets for instance ;)...if all the pigs were well then I'd be absolutely OK and enjoying just getting my [STRIKE]head[/STRIKE] tax return together and recharging my batteries)

Hugs to you.......thinking warm thoughts as it;s deffo much colder up where you are than down here. I hate the cold. I hate snow apart from the fact it reflects the light so on sunny days I don;t feel so SAD. I have never been skiing and don;t ever want to :rotfl::rotfl:......(I have Raynauds and if not careful can get frostbite on a sunny day in summer )...oops sorry, rant over

Take care Hun - hope you;re getting around OK

    Hello Wol

Totally agree with the idea of staying indoors and taking it easy - sod the post-Christmas diet, fill up on loads of good stodgy food and hibernate! After all, it's what the animals do in the wild.

I think as I am getting older the urge to hibernate for 4 months of the year is becoming much stronger ;)

Re chickens - still getting eggs most days from the two of them, and apart from a stray black feather here and there, no sign of the annual moult yet, so maybe my two are hardy creatures. They are currently tucking in to baked beans mixed with breadcrumbs and leftover cooked potatoes, all mushed up and heated up in the microwave for a nice hot lunchtime treat.

Yum to chickens dinner (except the breadcrumbs as i can;t eat wheat) - can I come and stay with you please :rotfl:

Sgt Pepper and Eric Clapton - now you're talking serious good music. Along with Queen, Dire Straits, Status Quo, Meatloaf......

My bro lives next door to Eric. Last year I was out in bro's garden and got serenaded by sounds of a lone guitar playing along to Freebird -such a treat and something I will always remember. My bro said (tongue in cheek) to his wife "Oh for goodness sake, go and tell Eric to shut up please he's keeping the kids awake again" .....sacrilege....these youngsters have NO respect :rotfl:

Woo :beer::beer:- glad we share the same taste in music .....old rockers and all that.......

    Hi Pingu

I have cleared a path to Piggie Palace - and they are very toasty warm courtesy of the electric heater in there.

No sign of a thaw here....in fact it's just started snowing again _pale_ with more forecast this weekend.

Bet you;ll be pleased to get the kids out from under your feet next week ;)

Hope all is well up your way

Had a message on my phone when I got home from work to say that DS's school is still closed on Monday and DD's will be open from 10am to 2.45pm

Shaun - my birth certificate may say one thing but inside my head I'm about 21.
I am certainly nowhere near retirement age yet but I have been around for a while, enough to have one grown up child anyway. There's no point worrying about how old you are - you can't turn the clock back or stand still in time, and the only other possibility is death. Now that doesn't exactly float my boat, so I am just going to carry on getting older in the most disgraceful manner possible! Rock on all you lot who were teenagers in the Seventies!

Love it .....Rock on Nargle :T:T

(I like the bit about being disgraceful ;).....think Ill take a leaf out of your book :D)

Good afternoon Wol, hope all is well in Piggiesville. That was indeed sacrilege, that bit about telling Eric (Clapton)not to make a noise with his guitar - your brother should be thankful he doesn't live next door to one of the Scorpions or Grateful Dead or ACDC )now there's some name dropping for you!
