Still cannot relocate my holiday pics....only a couple of videos left and hopefully can make a couple of stills from them....anyway waffling.....another HHC needed to finish off putting the junk from the cupboard away.....it is looking better already.

Don't forget to MAKE A BACKUP!!!! It's worth getting an external HD and some backup software. Failing that, burn pics to CD/DVD regularly. Obviously you can't do the same with music as you'd be in breach of copyright
JennyBee - I'm in a similar position to your OH with redundancy (I finish at the end of this month). Don't forget that he'd being paid to the end of September, and hopefully he is getting some redundancy money, so work out what you're doing with that. There ARE jobs out there, so get him working on his CV now, on his current employer's time and get it out on monster/jobsite etc. PM me if you want ideas... I've had a good response so far, so might be able to help.
Jo - I know you're angry, but I'm relieved you found out what he was up to. I think everyone has said everything else there is to say. Good luck for tomorrow - use the energy to get a positive result. Don't let him f*ck this up for you too.
Got home at 10.30 and have spent the rest of the evening catching up with you all! Just need to check train times for the morning now, as I'm off on a cup cake decorating class tomorrow and have to be in Putney for 9.30 so I have time to walk to the class...
Had a lovely time with my parents. Lots of walking, a nice concert at Houghton Hall, and my mum's birthday lunch today (hopefully pics of the cake will be up on FB imminently, although I realise that the other two still haven't materialised... I think I'm going to have to get a camera!).
Hugs etc all round. Triker, toots & L-L please don't overdo things!
See you all whenever I manage to get back on here tomorrow...0 -
Johanne- on the note of exoh stuff- i split up with my 'rebound' fling Dec'07 and he moved out. But proceeded to leave all his carp in the house and his TWO yes, TWO effin cars on my drive. One was a working progress, the other needed a repair
anyway, gotwith DH and the cars were still there come end of feb 08.....despite me constantly texting him and ragging him to get rid and giving him deadline after deadline he just kept coming up with tons of excuse's. I ended up calling him and having a massive row, i told him in no uncertain terms that if he didnt shift them within three days i was going to call the scrap man and get him to take em...and that i was going to dump every item of his clothes/gear in them. They were gone the next day.......
Feeling pretty carrrrrrpy tonight, not sure why. DH did the kitchen when he got in from work so i've not got much to do tomorrow. Then off out to get carpets whooo!

I've tried to catch up with the thread but can't possibly read 12 pages so hugs to all who need them, fingers crossed for anyone who needs them and hello to newbies
Haven't done much flying really for the last 2 weeks as my Gran died and although for some strange reason I'm not to upset about it my DD is devastated and I've had to support Mum as much as she'll let me, so routines have gone out of the window. Funeral is tomorrow and I'm really hoping that DD will be able to say her goodbyes and then return to being a happy child [really hoping that resilience[sp?] wins out for her]. So for this week I'm only aiming for level 1 each day and anything else is a bonus. I also feel very very mean cos I don't feel as awful as the rest of the family do [Mum called me hard] but I hadn't had alot of contact with Gran for years, Mum took DD to visit and I used the time to catch up on jobs round the house as I was a single Mum then. So feeling guilty, not looking forward to Mum and DD being upset tomorrow and generally feeling carp
Anyway, off to start the list for today
Thanks to Pigpen, Soapie and Toots

Helen grief is a funny old thing. When my dad died in 2001 i was so busy organising everything for my mum as she went to pieces that i did not get time to grieve. I cried three times. Once when i found outhe had died, the second time when my mother fell out with me and told me i was not allowed to go to the funeral, i did go, and third when my oldest best friend who i had not seen for about 15 years came up to me at the cemetary.
I was allowed 1 week off work and the following monday i was back at work. It did not hit me till we went to another family funeral and i felt like we did not belong as we had lost the link, my dad. I started crying and carried on for 5 months.Helen
Would you like me to pop over tomorrow night or any night during the week as I am home alone this week, so you have someone to let off steam at and your grief for your gran?

Valli stop stressing and have a great time. Officially Debt Free Nov 2012 :beer:0 -
Just read your post Quillion - it would seem that when your dad died you were sad, but did not take time to grieve, which I believe is quite common when someone feels they have to hold it together and 'sort' things. Your mum's reaction was probably in response to what she believed was your 'coldness' BUT you did grieve, just not then. There is no 'right' and no 'wrong' way to grieve as long as no-one or nothing is preventing you from doing so. I know when my own Grandma died, and she had been like a second mother to us growing up (although she was blunt and to the point and houseproud to an extreme but that's for another time) I hardly cried at all BUT she had had Alzheimers, and to me she had been gone a VERY long time by the time she had physically left us. By then she just wasn't my grandma. That's a cruel illness - taking away the spirit before the body goes (but aren't so many illnesses cruel?)
So as I have got older I have learned that you don't go to the funeral so much because of who has died, but to support their nearest and dearest; one needs to accept that people mourn in their own way and at their own pace. Iit's never 'too soon' nor is it 'about time she/he pulled herself together'. If the person who has lost someone is getting the support of their family and friends they will get to the best place for them at their own pace.
(Mind you I was most amused to be offered bereavement counselling when my very very elderly Aunt died - it wasn't exactly unexpected although it WAS a shock when she died about 5 minutes after I turned up to visit...)
Not stressing too much BTW
On a Flying note I have washed up, too. So virtually all my extras done ***phew***Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Valli i totally agree and i have been to alot of funerals. My dad died very suddenly as did Chris's dad which in my opinion is better for the one gone but not for the ones left behind.
My Nanny had Alzheimers too and it was so sad but sometimes funny.
What bothered me was that i couldn't cry for my dad who i loved dearly. It freaked me out if someone would have said to me when your dad passes away you won't cry i would have thought how bloody stupid are you.
Anyways i am now off to bed.
Anyone with a funeral to go to Big Hugs
Everyone else hugs xxx
Greenbee just noticed your birthday is 2 days after mine xx Another fellow Capricorn xx
Funeral count 25 in 10 years
I was told by a shrink that as each person died a part of me died with them and i had got lost on the way, I was no longer 'me' or 'I' i was my mother says or my brother says my sister says or my husband says.
When he asked me my name i told him Joanne he asked me if i wanted to be called Jo or Joanne i said i did not care whichever he decided. He told me i should care but at that point i really really didn't. It took me so long to claw my way back to the person i am today and i made a promise to myself that i would never fall that far down again.
Ok now i have bared my lows i am off to bed. Gym tomorrow ds was great in the pool today he did 6 widths with bands and was floating on his back for ages. I have a water boy he loves it.
Night Night all hugs xxx:beer: Officially Debt Free Nov 2012 :beer:0 -
