I managed to speak to DS1 tonuight and he is on about coming and visiting either just before christmas or just after.I asked him to let me know the week before so I can go out and buy her some stuff...no point buying now as don't know what size she will be at least I can ask what weight she is when he phones to give me a clue.

Just back from a lovely wedding of a friend. I've had a lovely night. Just chilling out and having a snack before bed.

I'm glad he phoned, Taxi. Its sad when things are like that, isn't it - my brother's kids have never bonded to this side of the family, their mother hated us, for some reason. His eldest boy has a baby ( now over a year old ) that I've never seen. Not as tough as you're going through, tho, this is your actual grandchild. I hope he does come down, and you get to see the baby.

I am glad that you have heard re the baby. I think most families have an element of "distance" or "fracture" in them....I know mine certainly does!

I agree with Hypno most families have fractures to deal with I have two step grandchildren that I haven't seen for 4 and half years It breaks my heart as far as I know they still live in Hypno land so I am not going to accidentally run into them although just by chance I did see the youngest one when I was in Norwich for a funeral a couple of years ago

Got a bargain yesterday full all singing all dancing AA membership for £47.75..,it was an offer from vauxhall and AA...75 % off ....so bought it.
