The reward current account ...gives you £5 reward per month as long as you deposit £1000 in the month. You don't have to transfer any DDs etc to them or do any banking with them.
As long as the £1000 has been credited to your account before the end of the month then you will be paid a reward of £5 within the 1st few days of the next month.
I went into branch to open mine and it was opened there and then..took ID with me but didn't need it as I'd had accounts previously with them....I transferred £1005 from my A+L to them(i leave that £5 in there as it keeps the account open).....then I opened DH one and transferred the £1000 from my account to his account so that was in in time...I also transferred £5 out of one of DHS account into the new reward account where I left that £5.
Then I sent the £1000 back to my A+L account....

The following month I sent the £1k from A+L to my halifax reward left it there(for at least 24 hours rec by halifax rep) then transferred the £1k to DHs account until the end of month....

Then what I usually do instead of sending it back to A+L ..I put it in my halifax account beg month ...then send it to DHs acc....ready to send back to mine the following month.

The 2x £5 paid per month go into my egg savings account.
There is always the original £5 left in each account to keep them open.

There is plenty of stuff in the bank boards on here about these accounts...
Don't mistake it with the ULTIMATE REWARD account though as that is a packaged £12.50 p/m account that gives a free £300 o/d...

I don't use it as a main account as the overdraft charges are £1 per day for under £2500 and £2 per day for over that and not capped ..so expensive.

If you have a look on those boards and on the halifax site..you'll probably find loads more info.

Yes you can do it all online...I would suggest leaving the £1k in for 24 hours though.
