I think you get a lower rate for the first 13 weeks, but I dont think its that low. After the initial period its £91ish per week. HTH Lilo

Great news on the bone scan...what a relief :)
    Re books just read this
    http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/ProductDetails.aspx?productId=9780141030999&shop=10004&type=Froogle
which is quirky but I liked it - not sure if i would have read it from the write ups but so pleased that I did - laughed out loud at times. Mums started reading it and loves it too!
well done on new clothes! Lovely to meet dt...funny when you have chatted to people for ages! Lol re internet friends - you are all collectively known as "the girls!" here!
Just rest when you need to though - stress/worry and uncertainty are exhausting and with pain on top you are bound to feel pooped. Do they give any advice on nutrition? Any yummy holistic treatments coming up? Your oh sounds like the kind of man who restores my faith in the opposite sex - what a sweetie!
Hang in there me lovely...thinking of you and praying for you :) Any more info on your op - ie how long do you have to stay in etc?

    Hi Taxi

    Long time lurker here!!

ESA is paid at a rate of £65.45 every week (usually paid fortnightly) for at least 13 weeks, could be more depending when they call you in for a Work Capability Assessment.

Once you have had your WCA you will be put into the category of either work related activity or support. Each of these gives you extra money each week. So then you would either get £91.40 or £96.85.

The work related activity group is for people that are not fit to do their usual job but with training and courses could get a different job.

Support group is for people who are too ill to work and cannot undertake any work related activity .ie. courses etc.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Afternoon all....
Was too tired to stay on here last night..lol

RE...the ESA....how stupid am I?(don't answer that)...I sent my sick note off without filling it in!!!...so thre payment I had was just the few days of the 1st week I could claim after they'd took 3 days off . I had to get a duplicate sick note(quicker then they sending it back to me to sign and me to send back) fill it in and take it to job centre for them to e-mail it and then post it off to them.....so is now sorted and my payment will be with me friday...£135 odd...as itwas due yesterday but they didn't have my sick note..lol....

Loving the piggies Wol..that really made me smile.

The lady on the phone when I originally filled the claim form said she didn't think (but wasn't sure) that I njeeded tpo go for assessments..if I do..I do...

I have a DLA form here but don't think I need to claim that but may need to do when I have the treatment..I don't know how I will feel hen.

My op I go in on friday 18th June and stay in until saturday morning if all is well but if not I stay in longer.I'm having my dyes and scans at 9.20am on that day and my op in the afternoon.

Mon the 14th June is my liver scan

Thurs 17th June is my first complimentary therapy appointment....don't know whether they just discuss the therapy or whether they actually do any then.

Going to see an old friend that I met whilst in town this morning.Haven't seen her for a few years but unfortunately she is very poorly in a lot worse state than me.There is nothing they can do for her and the worst bit being that she'd been telling her Dr over a year about her symptoms and he kept fobbing her off...she has a very aggressive cervical cancer....and she had her tests every 3 years...nothing detected...her symptoms started 12 months after a smear test....I'm really upset for her as her GP should have done something for her...it's awful xxx

Guess what I'm trying to say is if you feel that something is wrong then please please badger the health authorities if they aren't listening.
I was lucky I have a fantastic GP and even though mine thought it wasn't breast cancer he fast tracked me to breast clinic...all along though my intuition told me it was and I was right.

Please ladies also have any screenings available to you as well.

thanks for your warning Taxi, a lot of us do just live with being fobbed off by doctors.

Glad to hear you had good news about your scan and have now got your dates for your op, at least you know what timetable you're working to.
