Oh, I'm sorry Taxi: that's awful. :( I hope you can at least console yourself with the fact that having him put down meant that he didn't suffer or wasn't in any unnecessary pain. It's just about the worse feeling, having your pet put down. Big kisses. x

Oh Taxi ... I'm so sorry to hear that. Losing a pet is so hard. I'm sure you have so many fond memories of him.

    Lots of love and hugs.

    Hi all......
Didn't sleep too well last night.
Toby was 5 months old when we found him on the street in a sorry neglected state. We took him in and nursed him back to health and he died last night aged 17...his legs had been arthritic and he was on a monthly steroid injection and tablets ...on friday he had his injection and from saturday was slowly going down hill resulting yesterday with him not being able to stand and throwing up blood...so the kindest thing to do was to call the vet to come to the house to do put him to sleep...it was hard but for the best I know....RIP Toby xxxx

JJ was told by his mummy and aunty that Toby had gone to doggy heaven to play with the other doggies....so JJ said(he's only 5) is it because he had poorly legs and if he goes to heaven can he run now?....so they said yes and he said good...quite perceptive for a 5 year old as he doesn't know anything about heaven or death.
I am glad that he wasn't here yesterday to see Toby suffer.
Hope you all have a good day x

Hugs to you, taxi - never easy, but at least you know you gave him some very good years.

Oh Taxi, I am sorry. You've had him for so long, for almost all of his life.... in that situation, if you love the animal, its the right decision to make, for their sake.

Sending you lots of hugs - be extra kind to yourself today.
