If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this, the last battle, can't be won.

You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end

And hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree,
It is a kindness you do to me.

Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must be you,
    Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close,we two, these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Lots of hugs coming your way today

Oh Taxi, so sorry to hear your news. You should feel so proud though of what a wonderful life you gave to Toby - coming to his rescue when he needed it the most, and making the best and most loving decisions for him right until the more heartbreakingly difficult one at the end. Hugs to you xxx

No need to say more Taxi.....chasing tails is OK..:T.....despite everything going on atm, you've still put one more step forwards by cancelling A & L...

Little Toby has been a part of your life for 17 years. It's so so OK to have [STRIKE]a little[/STRIKE] a rather large Niagra falls-style ;)...weep Hun........AND give yourself permision to have some "do nothing" thinking space in order to start coming to terms with the very very upsetting recent events.....

He was a little gem...and he deserves to be mourned "proper-like".

And you deserve to "be kind to yourself"

    Hugs to you and yours

FWIW, I would do WW OR stopping smoking at the mo......one thing at a time is enough to deal with. Get in control of one, and you can then do the same with the other. Try and do both, fail at one, and you are more likely to chuck in the towel with the other too.......which won't make you feel any better in any way.
