Those ideasare good KC...at the moment I'm making some shepherds pies to stretch 800g minced steak...it's so long since we've had shepherds pie...
Does anyone know if I can freeze large shephers pies or not?

Still raining here on and off and pavements and roads improving..DH is thinking wednesday night may be ok..so fingers crossed.

Yep, no probs with freezing large Shepherds pie.

Hope the weather is improving, warmed up a bit earlier, so gone slushy but freezing again! xx

Well the rain has stopped and the roads and pavements are a lot slippier as it froze again last night.
DHs books for his birthday arrived today so he's busy reading them ...lol
I've ordered a slow cooker book today off Amazon £2.49 as it looked like it had some nice recipes in it and was free delivery...I thought it could help on the cheap/healthy recipe front.
I've just phoned up and cancelled my Virgin CC and asked for the £25 credit that is on it to be returned to my bank...so should be here in a few days.
That's about it really on mse front.

i love my slow cooker but do think i need some new receipies other than stew. think i'll have a look about for some books, thanks for giving me the idea.

There are loads of slow cooker recipe books on Amazon and there may be some in libraries,charity shops etc...this one has 200 recipes including puddings..lol..it's by Hamlym.

Cold here again and now snowing a bit and sticking!!!
DH has gone to work and has phoned to tell me not to go out tomorrow as a lot of sideroads up south end of blackpool are horrendous...and whilst the car is gripping ok at the moment it will be worse by the morning as the temps will be freezing over night!!!...it's give rain for the next few days so it may start to clear...willl wait and see whats happening in the morning.

DS3 gave me a surprise £50 Evans card today as a late christmas present so I have £130 now...which means I'll not need to spend my own money on clothes for a good while..not that I buy many anyway.

Nothing much else going on here...it's very boring this not going to work malarkey!!!..it's alright if it's planned time off but when your stuck in it's horrible...I've even done housework!!!!

I'm falling asleep at the wrong times as I'm so bored.

The roads are an absolute nightmare - I haven't driven on them - I hate driving at the best of times. Take care - hope that rain comes to wash it all away.
