I have just spoke to DH again and he has said no way that I should go out.
Just wondering whether to try and go to town somehow tomorrow(I'm going stir crazy here)...I just need to work out how to get from my house to the main road to get a bus.I'm certainly not taking the car.
We are expecting rain tomorrow for a few days but who knows..snow wasn't predicted today either!!!0 -
Hope u get into town ok, its getting worse, I'm sure the gritting is being cut back, had to nip to town, literaaly got out of the car to go to M+s (quickest cut through to Evans), and the pavements were so squashy, gave up after the 1st shopping centre, so went and sat in Cafe Nero (my treat), while dad did the banks and went to argos for me...... I did buy him a cup of tea.
Its not just worth it, its not u its other idiots on the road, and with Blackpool being a lot of back streets, its a liability. I know its not last income, but urs and oh are worth more than that.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I'm past the money part of it ..its the sheer boredom of being stuck in the house day in day out.
I'm going to see if I can get to bus stop tomorrow to go to town and do banking etc....if not I'll be stuck in again.0 -
Morning Taxi,
How lovely that you got the vouchers, hope you manage to spoil yourself rotten.
Sorry to hear that you've been stuck indoors, I hate that too. The road where we live on is on a hill and it goes to another hill and the only way off it is to walk when the snow comes. Hope you manage to venture out today at some point.

Decided not to go to town in the end and will be going saturday instead now.
DH managed to work last night but said the ice and snow was worse tham christmas and new year that was really bad.
So he's going to work through it and I'm staying off until monday by which time I'm hoping that it's mainly thawed out.
Tomorrow I'll fill the car,do the banking, pay some off Halifax CC and take DS food shopping...can use all main roads for that.
Today,I haven't done much....
housework, washing, drying etc and internet banking....paid an extra£45 off DHs BMI card but can't update sig as I need to wait for statement as theres interest on that account.
I've put the money into halifax ready for feb 1st reg saver payment and moved £1k around accounts to make my £10 bonus for this month.
Thats about it really.0 -
You're still doing well!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks karma...can't wait to get back to work though(not because I like work) because I have a plan to make a PAD to A+L card hoping to clear it before the 0% runs out.
I'm hoping to pay all cards off this year if possible.0 -
That would be soooo nice. My neighbour is a taxi driver, and he's been locked in the house by the snow for days too - tho at one stage he was parking at the end of the road to avoid the very worst of it....... gl gl gl2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I know it's been awful for everybody.I'm thankful that I had a system in place to sort something out to keep paying the bills...as I certainly didn't want to put anything on a CC!!!
DH has been good..he was saving his pocket money unbeknown to me for a fantastic camera for my birthday in feb...he'd saved £200 and gave it to me the other day so that I had cash to buy shopping from the corner shop or to pay for dog food etc if it needed to be delivered etc....I have used some of it and offered it back to him today and he said to keep it and spend it on what I want....so I'm going to pay it off the Halifax CC and pay it myself back later in the year.0
