Hi all..nothing much going on here.
I got the car back today at 5pm but then had to go to pet shop to buy dog food as we had very little left and being Burns can only buy it there then onto Morrissons for a stock up as we were quite low on a lot of stuff.
Regarding replacing the car ..it is only 18 months old and I have nearly £10k still outstanding on it!!!!....I have them looking into mini buses for me and to see what we can do with finance..I don't really want anymore debt so may have to continue with this one for now and just keep my fingers crossed that we get through until the finance is paid.

Hi all..hope you're all coping with this weather.
DH tried to work tonight but it was really bad as the council ran out of grit yesterday. So we've decided it's not worth risking life and limb and are staying off until it's safe to drive.
This means that I've had to make a radical deciscion to draw some money from the mortgage to keep up with bills...so have ordered £3k...this will sit in the current account and only be used for bills..the forecast says we will be having this weather for a few weeks so I need to cover alll angles...I will not alter my sig to reflect this change as I will pay what is left straight back into the mortgage account and then pay the rest back in in lump sums ..it should only be a few weeks hopefully.
I didn't want to use CCs and my mortgage rate is only 0.99% anyway so seemed like the best option.
That is about the only news I have.
  • Seems a sensible decision taxi no debt repayment is worth risking your lives I hope things get back to normal for you asap.

Have you been to SW tonight or were the conditions too bad?

HI taxi. It must be annoying to have to take money out of the mortgage but it sounds like the sensible decision. Very frustrating not being able to work while the cold spell lasts. I did make it into work yesterday, but not Wednesday as there were no trains. Luckily now that I am an employee I will still get paid!

probably the best decision all round Taxi
i almost did a 360 on a roundabout coming into work this morning, wasn't going fast, heaven only know's what i hit but the car just lost all traction, i was lucky not to become the next accident on my way in, and managed to stear out of it safely.

Am feeling a bit more positive today..which feels good.
Went for a walk earlier to get some loo rolls and longlife milk..once I got to the main roads it was better for walking so had a little walk into the small shopping area...whilst there I bought 4 weeks worth of patches..they were on offer at £7.85 in savers and I got a free pack of face wipes.
Just checked my bank account again and the £3k has arrived...I only did it last night.
DH has made a large pan of lentil and carrot soup for tea..yum.
Will need to update my sig as DD took her board money and some other cash from here and paid it off DHs Halifax CC..so thats £215 off debt today.
    So all quite positive.

To all driving please be careful
