I have planted Rocket 3 times and nothing, not a sausage. The onions dissapeared. I am holding my breath that this sunshine might ripen the tomatoes.

Rocket hates hot weather. Sow some now or in another week. It will do well over the winter. Spinach will also do well in cool weather.

The birds would have played a part in the missing onions. When I first put the sets in the ground I cover them with fleece or netting so that the birds leave them alone. Once green shots appear I remove the cover.

    hope that helps
    Kind Regards

  • I didn't have much luck with my peas either, I went away for three weeks and my DM was supposed to have watered everything for me. But as I grow most things in pots (horrible clay soil) It takes a lot of watering and I think she forgot to do it sometimes
One pot of peas had died completely and the other was on its last legs. But when I went through the plants to pull out any pods that were left to keep the seed, they were empty pods! no holes, just no peas and no seed - any ideas? Also the peas I did get were very hard any ideas on this as well please?

Thanks I will try again with the rocket. The last lot I planted was in a pot. There are some leaves in there but I am not totally sure they are not windblown weeds. I am leaving them a bit longer then I might eat one and see what it tastes like. The onion sets grew ok. they got to about a foot tall then just were not there one morning. Maybe someone nicked them.
