    The winner of that auction is now no longer registered with ebay.

    T-Mobile have 'Flext' it's kind of like contract and PAYG combined. Depending on what package you go for you get a no. of texts and/or minutes a month. You also get to choose one of the latest phones free! I really liked the sound of it but don't really want to be on T-Mobile.

    LOL....nah I didnt fake my age or anything. Its not my account, My sister in laws, She lets me use it as she knows I wouldnt fool around and bid on ridiculous items. Sometimes I even bid and sell for her when shes busy, is it against Ebay rules to let some under 18 to use the account? ? ? maybe, but i dont see no harm done as its family and we are close. I know theres all that fuss with not giving your password etc etc, If she knows my bank PIN theres no harm me knowing her Ebay info.

    We aret like those familes (this comment is in no way directed to anyone in this forum) who dont trust their bro's, sisters.......we are very open wiht eachother, hence, I know her Ebay info.

    Thanks

    Very true! I hope you didn't sign up for your own account (fake age details?) =oS

    Why would you think that ill use fake age details and so on? coz im a teenager? your comment is stereotypical, you could have said 'Are you using a friends/family's account?' or something along those lines.

    If it was a joke then Im sorry lol, sometimes we all get the wrong end of the stick. Hope You all still help me out when I need it and not blank me coz im 16 :o
  • You aren't suppose to have an eBay account if you're under 18 as it is against the rules but you haven't actually signed up so I don't see any problem with it. I used to use my ex boyfriends account when I wasn't old enough.

    hehe....ex-boyfriend hey? So, what did you do with his account after you split up :p . Joking.

    One important question: If Ebay find out that someone else under the age of 18 is using the account, do they have the right to terminate or do somehting with the account? Kinda gettin nervous using it. ALL yes ALL my friends got access to Ebay accounts and 90% of them are under 18, they havnt had problems and I hope that applies to me.
  • LOL I'm not saying what I did with his account after we split up lol lets just say he's no longer registered with eBay :rotfl:

    I'm not entirely sure about the rules tbh because at the end of the day it's your Sister-In-Laws account so I would have thought that she would be held responsible for anything that happened on her account.

    HA! LoL. They should allow 16 and overs to use Ebay, well thats what I think (I know there are going to be like a dozen replies explaining the reasons to why the age limit should not be lowered). 16 Year olds have bank accounts, they are resposible....ok ill stop there.....then again all those issues with paypal and conns should be considered.

    One of the items I put up (quite proud actually) is finishing tomorow, hopefully someone bids for a viewing: its a table. What do people do when its large items like a Dinning Table? do they bid then view? (suppose they dont like it after the viewing?)

    Anyways enough questions for one night. Going to bed........

    Nah, I wasn't suggesting anything like that! The registration form for eBay rejects any age that is under 18. In order to set up an eBay account for yourself, you would have to bump up your age to get through the process =o)

    Advice is for all on MSE, starting becoming cash savvy early gets us all into good habits. As I have found out, this site saves big £££ during university! =o)

    Back to the main topic and a Q you asked Razor... eBay don't allow anybody under the age of 18 to register an eBay account. However, as the account owner has total responsibility for any items you list, bid or buy on, you can use their account (with their permission) to do all the above without any problem.

    Some reasons the registration age is set at 18 and not 16 is that:
    * At 18 you can enter into credit agreements in Britain (eBay listing fees and the way they bill you up to a month after the charges apply is a simple credit agreement);
    * At 18 you are totally legally responsible for all your actions;
    * Maybe also something to do with eBays origins in America (16 year olds have different rights).

    The brief eBay Under Age Users policy is here:
    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/identity-underage-users.html

    eBayer buyers have a special option to report underage sellers: here by clicking the email us link (no direct hyperlink to that page though).

    Hope this helps! I've tried to sell tables before, but never had success as buyers find them difficult to collect (they are HUGE if they don't break down!), prices are only average too (here is the completed listings search results).

    No disrespect and definetly not being rude. But isnt it a bit stupid paying £15 a month and getting no mins? 12 x 15 = £180, I can almost get any fone for that price, 2nd hand obviously but you can get £15 amonth contracts with minutes and a fone, e.g. t mobile 3000mins....blah blah blah.

    Thanks for the thought though no disrespect. Im 16, so getting a contract isnt really an option.

    When I got the phone on contract they were £250 to buy sim free, and if you went on a £15.00 a month contract you would not get a free Samsung D500 a year ago. See if you can get the D600 free on a £15,00 a month contract now, I don't think you will. You might get one on a cashback deal. Also my daughter was 14 when she got the phone. If you do know of a contract that will give me a free D600 with 3000 mins for £15 a month let me know as I would like one for myself.
