Ebico - Equigas - How long should it take?

From what I remember they said they wouldn't increase their tariffs again in the next 12 months, which makes me belive that a rise in the Autumn (when the 12 months are up) is likely, but I believe they'll still be competitive.0
-
Well the Autumn I can understand, May 1st I can't, especially when I just got confirmation of my start date for supply via Email (after talking to Karen at Ebico today) and it quotes a unit price of 1.94p per unit including vat, I will be uber peed off if it goes up on May 1st.0

No news of an upcoming price increase on their website.0

Just finding out that 7/10 of the price comparison searches do not include EBICo in their searches, and Uswitch.com who does include them only if you select a tick box for including social tariffs which are described to put you off selecting them. Even when you select "search all plans" on uswitch they don't include EBICo !
Also I just wrote to the Which? price comparison service to find out why they don't include EBICo at all !!! Which? is supposed to be the consumers champion, and they don't include the cheapest supplier for thousands of consumers!!!!!!!!!!0 -

If you pay Ebico by direct debit, don't be alarmed if you notice your unit charge is more on your bill than what they say it will be eg 1.94p GAS 9.70p Electric.
On my bills it reads 1.96p GAS / 9.79p Electric...This is due to SWALEC systems not being able to deal with the fact that there is no Direct Debit discount on the EBICo account so they have to play with the figures so that the figure is increased artificially then a fictitious amound is taken off for direct debit discount, then VAT added.
Inreality when I work out how much I have been charged it is
9.66p electricity
1.934p Gas0 -

No worries, I decided to stick with quarterly billing seen as there was no benefit to laying out the cash each month. I just stick the money in my savings account till it needs to be dished out.

I signed up with Ebico and it took just over 6 weeks to go through. I had two cards from Ebico and one letter from Southern before the switch date. I then had two cards requesting final readings from Ebico. There was then a long wait before PG sent a (made up) final bill. Finally I recieved a first Ebico bill. (oh, plus three phone calls and two letters from PG trying to get me back.)
It takes time to switch suppliers these days. Once you have the change over date just sit back and wait. After 3 months hearing nothing you might start to worry, but not before.
As for Ebico's price rise. Nothing has been announced yet and everything is just guesstimation and rumour so far.

The website confirms that all existing customers as of 01/09/05 will not see any price increases for at least 12 months. This does not cover applications since this date, but Ebico as much as possible want to charge everyone the same.

I hope what that means is that the prices will only go up in September and not before for newer customers. I assume they plan to increase the charges in September and of course if you applied before then you are effectively fixed till September 2006.0 -
I visted the link. The guarnatee is a personal one of the director and has to be treated just as that, namely a personal one. Decisions of companies are made by the shareholders or the board that is empowered to make decisions on their behalf. So, though there is no reason to dispute the genuiness of the director's promise, if conditions make the promise untenable, any company will act in its own interests, which in this case would be the interests of those it was set up to serve.0
