Just got a phone call from virgin after cancelling 2 weeks ago, they just offered a free fitting of TiVo, M+ package and 30mb broadband for a fixed 12 month contract of £28 per month! I was on £37.50 a month before.:money:0

My sister phoned VM today and said she was paying way over the odds for her TV, broadband and phone package and asked if they would reduce it. She was originally paying just over £89 for 30mb broadband, XL TV with Sky Sports 1+2 and the free weekend calls on her phone (free with the £14.99 line rental). Virgin immediately reduced this to £75, chucked in a TiVo box and said that was the best they could offer.
I did a bit of research and the almost equivalent deal with Sky came to approx £64 after the initial 12 months of it being £57 (the only difference was the 'Up to 16mb' Unlimited Broadband which was was free for the first 12mths then £7.50 after).
Is it worth her pushing for more of a reduction, say £70 or under, or will Virgin dig their heels in and say !!!!!! off?Dry January: 31/31 days. :T0 -
Just haggled Virgin down to £29.99 month
Med TV
Phone line with free weekend calls
Up to 30MB broadband (unlimited download)
Tivo box will cost us extra £49.99 but one off payment so cheaper than paying £5 month for V+ (allows us to pause, rewind, record etc)
We were paying 38.99 month for only 20MB and no facility to pause and record TV.
Difficult to get information about packages available so really had to push for this. Perseverance definitely needed. Customer relations in uk are the guys you need to speak to and not call centre. Had list of comparable deals by me. Called back after initial discussion and offer (after I had time to think about offer to me) and was able to get deal detailed above.0 -

I've just moved into a shared house.
We are paying £107 per month for the Premier Collection:
XL TV
XL Broadband
Sky Sports 1 and 2
Skyprem HD
Talk Weekends
TiVo
1 Aditional V Box
I called them up and they would upgrade the internet from 60mb to 100mb and reduce the cost to £94.24 per month, so saving about £13 per month. Does that seem like a good deal or can I expect to get much lower if I go through to retentions? I can't really tell them that BT/Sky can give a better deal, because they can't.0 -
At Virgin Talk unlimited extra (this gives me ‘free’ calls to all landlines and mobiles) together with Broadband L. I pay my line rental up front which works out at £10pm.
My package without the line rental is £33.15 but I get £8 loyalty discount so pay £25.15.
A few months ago I lost £2 pm goodwill discount and in November I will lose £8 loyalty discount ---which means I’ve lost £10 since the deal was set up.
Are Virgin likely to give me the discount back, or should I look at having a mobile phone contract instead of a land line? and just keep the broadband. (Not sure if Broadband would cost more without the landline) Any advice would be great.0 -
Went from:
M Broadband
M
incl Line rental
£35
to
L Broadband
M Phone
incl Line Rental
£25
No hassle. Done in under 10 minutes.0 -
This is the deal I got after giving my 30 days notice to leave 10 days ago.
Free line rental for a year
50MB broadband
XL unlimited telephone
M+ TV
Caller display
SuperHub 2
£29 for 18 months.
I did have to wait 10 days before the retention guy rang and I initially rejected his first offer of £31 and free line rental.0 -
