Help needed to find courier for TV

Why does your dad not want it? Doesn't he like presents?0

If it was bought from ebuyer then it should have been delivered by City Link. Call City Link. Perhaps when contacting them it might be worth mentioning that the tv is still fully boxed and they delivered it in the first place.0

Thanks for the replies again (apart from the unhelpful one about not liking presents - I didn't go into details as it was not relevant, but basically my mum tried to surprise my dad with what she thought was a good deal, but turns out it's a very poor TV. So short of keeping it just because it was a present - and my parents certainly don't have any money to waste in that manner - there is no choice but to return it unfortunately).
I think she has already tried City Link, but has come up against the PO Box issue again. It seems ridiculous, I wouldn' thave thought it would be so difficult to find someone. My mum is actually getting really stressed about this now (she has other things she is already stressed about and this is making it worse, an added worry she couild do without) and I don't know what else I can do to help

"I need to return an item, how do I do this?
Returning an item to Ebuyer is a simple process. Simply log into Your Account and follow the on screen instructions"
Did the above not work?
Really your mother needs to work with ebuyer and get the TV collected by them, although she'll have to pay for the cost of returning it.
So many shippers refuse to take TVs, and if she does sendit back herself, make sure it's sent insured."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

OOOh no need to get snotty I was only asking
If you didnt want anyone to ask the question why put this in the OPMy mum bought my dad a new TV as a surprise off the web, but he doesn't actually want it
You could have just said that you needed to return an item to ebuyer. SO why get snotty when you originally brought the subject up0 -

the op wants advice on returning a tv to ebuyer...... the reason is irrelevant.....she does not want advice on if her reason is good enough, she just wants to know if anyone can advise her which currier could help.
Maybe, just maybe, she thinks the reason is non of your business cyberbob...or should we hold a committee with you as head and demand the op hauls her dad in front of the computer to explain his aversion to this particular T.V before deciding if the o.p. deserves our help...
Welcome to the helpful world of the MSE eBay board op.. :rolleyes:0 -
Hi cyberbob,
I'm not being snotty at all. It's just, over the last couple of years I've noticed the deterioration of what used to a be a 100% friendly and helpful community on MSE, to one peppered with pointless and nasty remarks which is a shame.
I was simply asking for help with trying to find a courier that would delivery for my mum; rather than creating a long waffling post which would be hard for people to read, I didn't go into every last detail, just what I thought were relevant points. Your post made it sound as though you were accusing my dad of being ungrateful for this surprise present which is not at all the case.
My mum is currently rather stressed out for various reasons, and what was supposed to be a nice surprised to cheer my dad up, has turned into a bit of a millstone around her neck. I'm just trying to find a way to sort it out for her, and avoid her getting any more stress, and didn't find that particular post very helpful.
Anyhow, thanks for all the other replies. My mum still hasn't been able to get a courier, although I have given her the physical (non-PO box) address that someone kindly gave me when I posted on the Consumer board. She didn't want to post it to this address in case it caused problems with the refund, but I think she is going to have to as she hasn't found any more options.
Thanks again.0 -

Hi booker dave,
Yes this is what my mum did. But the online process advised her she needed to call. So she called and got stuck for nearly 1.5 hours on their 0870 number, and then when she got through apparently the person was really quite unhelpful. Initially refused a return full stop, then eventually agreed to a return, but will not help with getting the product back. My mum would gladly pay ebuyer to collect the TV and take it back, but unfortunately they have refused to do this.0 -

That's a bit rubbish, innit.
The least they could do is agree to collect the item and refund less the cost of return shipping.
Perhaps they hope you'll give up and keep it.
I must admit when I wanted to send something back to ebayer they made it that hard that I (to my great shame) just gave up and kept it.
They're one of those companies that are great until something goes wrong or needs sorting out..."Love you Dave Brooker! x"
