Hi guys, hopefully someone can help me.
Firstly I'm on a Macbook.
Recently I have been having trouble with my wireless internet (TalkTalk) the speed just suddenly drops and sometimes drops out altogether. Most times this can be fixed by unplugging the Router for a few minutes (Netgear DG834G) then plugging it back in. Currently my wireless speeds are D/l 1.63mbps u/l 0.81 mbps
however if I use the ethernet to connect I get speeds of D/l 6.45 mbps U/l 0.82mbps.
So basically what do I do cos I need to have wireless? Is it the router at fault? Is it easier/cheaper to just replace the router?

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Could be many things at fault. Firstly check with another laptop (preferably PC based). Does that suffer the same symptoms? Is it happening randomly or after a specific time? Who's router is it? Yours? TalkTalks? Call them up to do a line check...0

Do you have your laptop in the same place all the time? There could be something blocking out the signal. How far are you away from the router?Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £19,575.020

Well the speed looks fine when connected by a cable so that rules out just about all problems with the service being provided. Have you tried changing channels on the router?0

internet is ok on the windows laptop speeds posted above. The router is mine, we got it from AOL originally 3 years since and have been with talk talk 2 years, wireless for the last 12 months xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
