I stopped bleeding this week, 7 weeks after the birth! And had blood clots the size of my fist sometimes... yuck!

This has scared me soo much!

Happy Birthday Harley and Aless (should still be your birthday in the US :) )

Had a relaxing weekend this weekend, a bit of shopping - two tops, two bras and another baby book - I'm on my 5th one now! Also drafted my birth plan, just need to type it up now.

Taking this week off and visiting relatives so may not be on much if at all. Hope Suzy and Fairydawn have their little ones by now.

just had to let you know that what honey describes is not the norm!!
I needed the thick maternity pads for the first few days (think I used 3 packs) then about 2 weeks using normal sanitary towels. From previous dissusions on the parents thread most had stopped bleeding completely by 4 weeks post natal.
If you pass clots bigger than a 50p you need to inform the MW!

Love to you all, hope your bumps are behaving themselves, the last 10 weeks have flown by, my bump seems a million years ago now :(

I remember missing "bump" *hugs* - honestly though I don't think I can put my body through this again... Congrats on ds2's safe arrival - a bit late I know!

Evansangel - I have had a the same symptoms as you for the past 4(ish) weeks - the Dr wanted to see me becuase my white cell count was raised she checked dd1 and myself over and said it was just a virus (I was pretty sure that was the case - but everyone else was convinced I had it. The joy of having kids ;) dd2 passed it to ds1 who passed it to dd1 and they all shared with me :D) I am now pretty convinced that since we normally eat a pretty healthy diet we have become ill because in the past 6 month we have eaten more junk than I can ever remember... all my fault!

    Harley - Happy Birthday!

    Aless - belated birthday wishes

Albionsarah - Spud did not co-operate at our 20 week scan - the sonographer took her best guess but was not convincing... we went for a gender scan and the sonographer was 99%?! sure that it was the same flavour... In saying all of that I have bought 3 things that are "coloured" one is the pram that is at the shop and will not be collected until we know for sure! tbh I feel a bit guilty - we never found out what flavour any of the others were and until spud is in my arms...

Fattybooboo -omg! you have more newborn stuff than me and I have no 0-3!!! *lol* short version of a long story - I got rid of everything baby related in an effort to come to terms with dh having the snip - I have loads of age 4 though;)

Sugar Spun - That was so perfectly put!

Workinmummy - just a thought - but if you want to add something to the walls how about some stickarounds? I have them in all the kids rooms and they brighten up plain walls. I am pretty sure you can get designs like abc or WTP. All the ones that I have had have gone up, stayed up and come back down when I have wanted them to!

Fitzio - lol DH had broad shoulders (and curses me when I start baking ;) - he is in charge of quality control)

tia - congrats! glad you are both home safe.

maternity knickers - I used the disposables with dd1 and ds1 but with dd2 just bought some cheap cotton pants - they seemed to hold the pads in place better (imo) if there was a leak soaking in cold salt water then washing removes blood - or throw in bin depending on how much sleep you have had!

I lost most of Saturday due to the antibiotics the dentist gave me  since I have stopped taking them I have felt fine have an appt to see him this morning so will see what he thinks.

Spud is short of room I think wriggling one way and then the other - I haven't been able to sleep at all yet and can't do any jobs because I don't want to wake anyone up.

I do have a quick question - is there a herbal remedy for afterpains?! Out of nowhere I remembered what they were like with dd2 *eek* I will be breast feeding again so would prefer something natural - although will resort to paracetamol if need be... please don't tell me that I should have started taking something weeks ago!!

Sorry I think this will look really long when posted - even though I have taken notes I probably missed something - so hugs/cake/sticky bean dust/labour vibes to those in need x
  • :eek:omg i will be 35 weeks tomorrow,,,someone please slow it down:eek:

Thank you this made me smile :D

My Midwife is dropping off my hb kit this week :rotfl: I think I am the only person on this thread hoping they go overdue - a week would be helpful... any longer than that and I might have a chance to relax and enjoy being pregnant

Thanks Elle. Will definitely buy an extra couple of packs. Would rather have too many than be caught short.

Aless - treat yourself to some cute colourful American clothes for baby.

Not heard from Nessquic for over a week. She might have had her baby by now as she was having contractions or something wasn't she? We are due a few births - after the batch last week, I was getting used to them!

    Happy birthday harley.

Just organising the kids, i'm a bit of a wreck this morning DD starts high school this. She's so laid back "i've been to school for 7 years nothing new mum" and i'm all "this is big school you need to concentrate do as your told first time". She thinks i've flipped nearly hit the roof when i said i'd drop her off. I didn't mean at school just down the road where i pass on way to DS's school. She's came over all teenager kevin:rotfl:

Ok mum deep breaths in out pant oops to soon for the pant just in out :eek:help.

well im starting to be a bit of a hermit!! dont really want to go out incase anything happens, but ds has got to do stuff, cant keep him coupped up all day, lil sis is taking us go kids go today, they love it, its massive and wears them out!!
In anticipation of babies arrival, yesterday i washed all the windows in the conservatory helped hubby mow and clear the lawn, walked to the park and that did us both!! Got all the bottles and sterilizer out of the wrappers and found a home in the kitchen for them, assembled the loola, washed and dried the covers for the car seat so i got nothing left to do. Ethan is so looking forward to his bro coming, he keeps asking 'whens beanie coming, whens beanie coming!!!
Re the boobs thing, mine have stayed the same size thoughout, i must be lucky, ethan saw my nips the other day and said 'mummy your boobies never used to be that colour, why have they gone a brown colour' OMG what do i say, so i told him they are so beanie can get some milk, the coggs started ticking then the questions started rolling, to put it short he thinks its SICK for babies to get milk from mummies boobies, he was horrified when i told him i did it with him, the things 4 yr olds say!!!!!:rotfl:

Sammy - This pregnancy - i had spotting around 4 weeks and i mean tiny ammounts of blood over about a week. then at around 7 - 8 weeks i had a bleed (about an eggcup full) which stoppped within the hour but the next day i had an internal scan and i had spotting when i wiped for about a week after as far as i am aware the first bleed was implantation, the seccond was a blood vessel or polyp bursting in my bits somewere but no were near my womb or cervix and the third bleed was where she had "rubbed" the cervix a bit doing the scan. The baby is doing fine so far and i have a 20 week scan on wed - i will let you know what they say.

Previous pregnancy - i had spotting at 8 weeks with severe cramps which turned into a heavy bleed quite quickly - this pregnancy didnt continue.

The best thing you can do is try not to worry and make full use of your early pregnancy unit for help. You could call them and say you are bleeding again since the scan and see what they say. Its a bit more complicated to figure out whats going on for you love too because of the 2 beanies in there.

Just take as many hugs and as much sticky bean dust as we can offer :grouphug:

Thanks hun. Im in for my scan today - should be leaving in a minute actually. Am really nervous though - my bleeding has been continual since Wednesday now and I found out on Friday that I am classed as a light bleed because although its there when i wipe its not making it to a sanitary towel when im wearing one - does that make sense??

Am extremely nervous and absolutely petrified. Have been wanting number 2 for about 3 years now and was over the moon when i found out i was expecting. Hoping to have good news but finding it so hard to stay positive. Boyfriend seems adamant everything will be fine but am really not so sure. Am going in expecting the worse and anything on top of that will be a bonus in my book. Have been in bed resting all day. Please send good vibes for me today. I'll let you all know how i do later.
