How scary Tigster. Glad everything is looking good at the moment though. Not sure if you remember Elle but her little lad was born at 31 weeks (I think) and is currently doing great so try not to worry too much, but it sounds like the little lad is doing ok in there and all that extra monitoring will pick up the slightest change.
Huge stay put vibes for the Butterbean.

Ooh, so much drama on the thread at the moment!
Sammy- so glad they found a heartbeat and how exciting that there are potentially two. Have you had very strong symptoms so far (morning sickness etc) as I think that can be a clue to twins.

Parentcraft/antenatal class-
went ok. were 12 couples in total. some never spoke at all some did. i like the ones who ask so i'm not the only one!! and we're all 1st time mums! would have liked a 'i'm jillie and i'm 34weeks' bit as i'm always curious to how pregnant they are and size compared to me.
let us set our own agenda of things to discuss on the topics today. so people could say 'i'm worried bout this or that etc or i have a question on this
we did recognising signs of labour and first stages of labour today.
waters breaking- thought my mum was weird cos hers never did but apparently the longer they dont break, the better as its more cushioned for you and baby
got some leaflets on different positions to ease the pain
said i'm med-high risk cos of existing BP, so this may mean me being monitored in the hospital a lot earlier in labour than most people.am going to try and find out hopefully on monday what this will mean as we need to be prepared.
next week is the 'giving birth section' etc looking forward to it.
Do you have any linkies on the implications of high BP for births? I hadn't really given it much thought till I just read your post but now I'm starting to wonder. You seem to be a fount of knowledge it.

Don't know if any of you remember, but I was being filmed on Wednesday for a tellyprog? Well, the scan that day didn't go too well - sod's law when you're on camera. The consultant found problems with the placental bloodflow, and started mentally and physically preparing us for a potentially very early induction or c/s (I'm only 28 weeks right now).
I've just had two days of steroid injections in my butt, with the prospect hanging over us of me possibly being admitted for long-term monitoring.
The good news this morning, at today's (emergency) doppler scan, is that the bloodflow has been restored and Beanie can stay put for a bit longerWe are to closely monitor his activity levels, and I return on Monday for another scan ... then on Wednesday as planned ... then who knows.
Got the impression this is pretty much how it'll be for the remaining weeks - incredibly frequent visits up to the hospital for doppler scans & heartbeat monitoring.
He needs to stay in there - he's not cooked enough yet!
Glad that you're still on the pregnancy thread- we don't want to lose you to the Parenting one yet. Fingers crossed that bubs bakes for a bit longer yet. It must all have been very dramatic for you, but glad it was good news today.
Fingers crossed that Suzy is well under way by now. Can't wait to hear from her.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

Can someone remind me of the name of the girl who spent weeks on the hospital ward simply being monitored prior to labour? I remember how bored she got etc, I wanted to have a read of her posts too, as this is something I could yet face.

Ooh Tigster thats awful, glad its all worked out for the best.
I'm 16 weeks today, and get a little bit more excited each Friday, is that sad? My friends had a little girl this morning, got a msg from OH so no name or weight yet but am so happy for them, they live opposite us so hope to see the new baby soon.
Have had a really boring day at work today, for a change I am up to date so spent all day clock watching and thinking about food, I just can't decide what to eat now, just turkey drummers and cherry fizzy drinks seem to hit the spot, but trying to be fairly good and varied- for instance I had a Big Mac yesterday!
Hope everyone else is OK, now off to catch up

hi gisi
i;ve not done too much research, but enough. and have scared myself unnecessarily as well
this first link is from baby centre uk. and when you compare the info on it compared to the info from the US version there is a heck of a difference.

Girls, I just need to vent
I don't know if anyone will remember the situation I'm in with my dad but it's flared up again and I'm a mess!!
He's at his place in Spain at the mo with my daughter and she just text me to tell me she asked him how long he was staying for when he brings her back to us and he says he's staying till 1st September!!! Thats a week and 4 days!! He's already had over 2 weeks here getting in our way before he took her to Spain!!! Thats not the worst of it. She also says that he's told her he's coming back in November. We don't know for sure but were thinking he obviously thinks he can come here at the start of November,be HERE for the birth of my baby AND he's way too fcking tight to pay out for a flight home to Spain before xmas to then come back again (not that we want him here!!!!) so thats him here for 2 months!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?????! No asking us,like I said about him before,he just does what the fluck HE wants, doesn't even think about how it may affect others. Now I just know I will go over my due date and have him here! Do you think my hospital would agree to induce me at 38 weeks on emotional reasons?? Im serious.love my little man he is amazing :j0 -
Thanks for those Jillie. The UK baby centre one is interesting reading. I see what you mean about the US and UK ones being very different.
I pulled the pregnancy card at work today. I had been asked to be a witness at a disciplinary, which I agreed to. I was then asked to do the disciplinary instead, which I was less thrilled about and it then transpires that the whole thing was likely to get pretty messy as the person involved currently has various grievance procedures in place against various people. I called my manager and said I could really do without the extra stress of this (it's nothing to do with my store, we do them for other managers) and she agreed :T. Quite relieved as I don't like that kind of thing at the best of times.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
