    new thread alert!!!

    Parentcraft/antenatal class-

went ok. were 12 couples in total. some never spoke at all some did. i like the ones who ask so i'm not the only one!! and we're all 1st time mums! would have liked a 'i'm jillie and i'm 34weeks' bit as i'm always curious to how pregnant they are and size compared to me.

let us set our own agenda of things to discuss on the topics today. so people could say 'i'm worried bout this or that etc or i have a question on this

we did recognising signs of labour and first stages of labour today.
waters breaking- thought my mum was weird cos hers never did but apparently the longer they dont break, the better as its more cushioned for you and baby

got some leaflets on different positions to ease the pain

said i'm med-high risk cos of existing BP, so this may mean me being monitored in the hospital a lot earlier in labour than most people.am going to try and find out hopefully on monday what this will mean as we need to be prepared.

next week is the 'giving birth section' etc looking forward to it.
IMO its much better if your waters go early on :p
my 1st labour my waters breaking was my 1st sign
2nd I had to break my waters by pushing - this was much more uncomfortable than them going on their own, I could feel them bulging and the relief when they finally went immense! (I was begging the MW to pop them but they're not allowed to unless its an emergency at homebirths :p)
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Having read that i hope my waters break naturally had to have them popped with my first then they just went with the second one. I have looked it up on the tinternet about babys being born with the waters still intact and they made it so sereane and apparently its good for baby but i dont need any extra pressure down there bubs is causing enough already all on his own :-)

Afternoon All, sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days - we've had a worrisome time wondering whether we'd stay on the EDD list, or whether we'd have to be suddenly moved to the Birth list

Don't know if any of you remember, but I was being filmed on Wednesday for a tellyprog? Well, the scan that day didn't go too well - sod's law when you're on camera. The consultant found problems with the placental bloodflow, and started mentally and physically preparing us for a potentially very early induction or c/s (I'm only 28 weeks right now).

I've just had two days of steroid injections in my butt, with the prospect hanging over us of me possibly being admitted for long-term monitoring.

The good news this morning, at today's (emergency) doppler scan, is that the bloodflow has been restored and Beanie can stay put for a bit longer :D:D:D We are to closely monitor his activity levels, and I return on Monday for another scan ... then on Wednesday as planned ... then who knows.

Got the impression this is pretty much how it'll be for the remaining weeks - incredibly frequent visits up to the hospital for doppler scans & heartbeat monitoring.

He needs to stay in there - he's not cooked enough yet!

Wow Tigster, good job you were having those extra scans then. Can't wait to watch it all on TV when you will hopefully have a happy little one to cuddle while watching. Stay put vibes for you!
