  • Hi everyone - I'm ok, feeling a bit sicky, but that's becoming a habit now!
Finding it really difficult to not tell everyone. I nearly put my foot in it at work today. I was talking (very publically) to a heavily pregnant work colleague and mentioned how nice her maternity top was. She said she found it really difficult to find decent maternity wear locally, and I agreed - I nearly added 'as I found out when I was looking round the shops at the weekend'. Just saved myself and managed to add on 'when I had my daughter'. It was a bit of a close call!

Where does the time go?
  • I don't really know what's going on at work. My manager leaves next week and basically the organisation is really keen to save money, so I'm half afraid that they will completely restructure with no guarentee there will be a job for me. On the other hand if they decide to replace her, both me and my colleague will stand a slight chance that we might get the job... but there's a good chance we won't. Rather than just waiting to see what'll happen, my colleague and I decided that we would put in a proposal about what could happen with our team - not replacing our manager, giving ourselves much more responsibilty ( and some more money!), upping the responsibility & money of the two remaining members of our team, and putting in for 2 more team members to support us - all of which is less budget than our previous wage bill. We're waiting now to see if they'll go with it - they seemed quite impressed... so fingers crossed.

  • Until this is all resolved, I don't really want them to know that I'm pregnant - I'm sure it will influence their decision...

That's what my gut instinct is saying as well, but it's sooooo hard at times. I'm having to keep quite quiet about it at home as well. DH knows obviously, but we don't want to tell DD yet just in case something goes wrong (and of course, there's no way she'll keep that to herself. I can imagine her now: 'there's a baby in mummy's tummy - she's going to have a fat belly soon!) - really don't want to have that conversation, but can't wait to tell her as she's baby mad!

That was why I started posting on here - we didn't tell anyone until I was 14 weeks! This thread kept me sane!!!

Just over on the OS boards looking at preparing for winter! (yes, it's August but it's bl00dy awful weather here today!)

    Evening Ladies.

Congrats to Nessquic, hope Zac is out of SCBU very soon. And welcome back to the longtime lurkers.

Soooo many of you are now on MIL and i still have 2 weeks to go:(.

I actually packed my bag and baby bag today, and a spare bag to keep in car, with extra towel, baby clothes, maternity pads, nappies etc, so OH doesn't have to go routing about at home for them. My back was killing me at work this morning, so much so that i was actually sick. I started to panic because if i did actually go into spontaneous labour i had nothing packed.

Haven't even thought of a going home outfit. I have just packed plain white babygrows and vest and hats and 3 different coloured knitted cardigans, all in tiny baby size - may change this after visit to consultant on Tues, as to what her opinion on the size of the baby will be. Have also put some newborn size stuff in the spare bag, just in case.

Tomorrow will consist of swimming lesson for DS, food shopping at Asda, Ironing and yet another trip to School uniform shop, to try and get the remainder of DS uniform, They have not had his size in for the last two weeks and it is so infuriating:mad:.
