Not getting tea or coffee!

Well I posted it before work!
Both set of parents have given £6000 towards this wedding (so £12,000).
It's not my family so I'm not bothered but I can tell you that a lot of the "family" seem perturbed by not getting a cup of tea.
Note I am not being judgmental about this as some of you seem to think, I am not really bothered. Only really posted this to get an idea on what people thought......0 -
Ok. I recently went to a charity dinner to be told after the meal, no coffee. When we asked for tea, they didn't have that either. No facility to make it. Ok, I admit it was wierd because all restaurents give the option of coffee don't they?
Now, if this is in addition to the budget, and lets face it, how many do request coffee, it could be an added expense that isn't necessary. Forfit pudding or coffee? I know what I'd chose.0 -
Our hotel said that they didn't supply teas and coffees as hardly anyone wanted them but that they would supply them to people who asked. Have you thought that maybe this is the case? I am sure the hotel will give you a cup off coffee should you ask.0

I like coffee and tea, but always found it a bit pointless after a meal, when what I want is more booze!0

It's not in a hotel. I am led to believe that tea and coffee was a chargeable extra (iyswim) and the bride said no.
I will actually ask a waiter for a cup of coffee and will be prepared to pay for it if needbe......0 -
At every wedding i've been to there's always been tea or coffee served at the end of the meal. Tea, coffee and sandwiches are always provided around 9pm too - the band stop for a break, and everyone who wants to queues up to get a drink.
Maybe that's just the norm here. I've never been to a wedding that hasn't had a band either though.
But they must have their reasons. I'd find it a bit strange too, but just because i'm used to getting it, but it wouldn't bother me if I wasn't to get a cup of tea. Are you getting a toast? Usually, at a wedding, you get a toast after the meal too.0 -
Our venue charges, but we have chosen it. To be honest, I wouldn't be fussed if I went to a wedding without tea / coffee. I often find the coffee too strong and the tea too weak, but that's just me!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

Then have a soft drink !!!!!!. No tea isn't going to kill you. I like eating potato waffles with salad cream on, but I wouldn't stamp my feet like a spoilt child at a wedding untill I got some!
If it was my wedding, and someone whinged about bloody cups of tea when i'd just spent £££££'s on feeding and entertaining them, I would kindly show them the front door.....Profit=sanity
Turnover=vanity
Greed=inhumanity:dance:0 -
i'm glad you wont be coming to my wedding is all i can say! the most we can afford drinks wise is a drink for our guests for the toasts. and anyone that would want to quibble that can just not come i'm afraid!Mummy to

It's my GF's cousin's wedding tomorrow. We've found out this week that for the meal (at the reception) that we're not going to be sat with people we know, the idea being that we talk to other people. PMSL
And now we find out we're not going to get a cup of tea or coffee after the meal. It's laughable.
Not my family so I do find it quite funny. Though I do intend to buy my own coffee and then walk around with it, proclaiming it as odd that no coffee was provided.
how pathetic and self centered for you to worry about a cup of coffee ???????you should be gratefull you have been invited to share there day !!!!!!
when i was creating my wedding guest list its soo hard to have to narrow it down and it has created soooo much stress for me to invite and not invite ppl id be mortified that id wasted a place for someone who is WORRYING IF HES GOING TO GET A CUP OF COFFEE !!!!!!wins :- x2 hair dyes ,mascara, epilator,personalised card , glass photo ,comp angels please throw some luck my way
