DD(23) cooked a breakfast for us all and I have had a really lazy morning.
She does not go back to Oxford till Tuesday now so I am hoping the order from Approved food will have arrived by then. I am hoping if she has tea bags, coffee, tins or sachets of soups, sauces, couscous, soba noodles etc hidden away in the cupboard that it will save her time and money over the next month or two.
As we are driving her back I will see if she wants any pots or dishes etc from home as it will save her having to spend out on them.
Bedding from our bed is in the washing machine as it looks like a good drying day.
We still have some food from yesterday in the fridge so will use that up tonight and maybe make home made meatballs to go with it.
Dds beat me to the shower earlier so will amble lazily through once I have browsed on here and then do a little bit of shopping.
Going to Middlesborough tomorrow to see elderly aunt in hopital. She does not seem to have regained consciousness in the ten days since her stroke but keep hoping that being visited might help somehow.
Hugs to everybody
Redruby
Well done to your DD. Work experience , no matter what is always useful and might lead to something else later.
My 20 year old was pleased to get a holiday job here after trying York and Leeds with no sucess. She goes back to uni in September.
DD(15) starts two weeks work placement when school starts again and seems to be looking forward to it. It is in Gap in Leeds.

Afternoon all.
We actually have some sunshine here today, so washing is fluttering merrily in the breeze.
Trying to decide if I feel well enough to make a risotto for tonight's dins.
Looks like a busy weekend ahead - Mr LW has to visit the Fang Farrier at 09:00 tomorrow, then on to the market to get some fruit'n'veg, and after that, into Central MK to get his specs fixed at the optician, as the side has come loose and all attempts with his Handy Dandy Emergency Specs Fixing Kit have failed. I hate going into town on a Saturday, but it can't be helped.
I've bought Mr LW a new Harris tweed jacket for his birthday. It's not til December , but he's got it early, as he saw one online that he liked.:p Anyway. it's arrived tday. so he'll try it on tonight. It's to replace the ancient one that he reluctantly had to part with because it had been repaired so many times that it just couldn't be repaired any more.
Pen-Pin I hope you can get out for that meal - it'll do you the world of good, I'm sure.
Hope the Halight twins are a little better now.
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all,
Nothing exciting to report from Mean Mansions to-day, just really want to say that I hope Halight's twins improve quickly, miserable when babies are ill.
Not sure what's for dinner, just had lunch of spanish omelette which OH is an expert at making....DD4 made me go for a walk first as she says I am putting on weight.
Hugs to all who are feeling under the weather for one reason or another....no doubt will be back later

Afternoon al
Gone really dull now, I knew the glorious sunshine this morning was too good to last , ah well never mind, most of the washing is dry and the rest is now under the back cover.
Had an enormous bowl of fruit for Lunch with a handful of sultanas, then a yoghurt, very healthy today
Have decided to do pasta bake for Dinner a huge one, then if they arrive tonight I will have something ready for them.
Well all beds done, toybox down, towels out and sweets and comics in the cupboard so thats about it. I can go and have a knit for a bit now, I want to finish a teddy bear off before they get here, otherwise it will be claimed by one of the girls
:rotfl: and its earmarked for someone else.
Pen-Pin - hope you feel a bit better now, enjoy your meal out, it will do you good x
Halight - poor LO, its awful when they are ill is'nt it, good luck with the eye drops
FE - what a nasty scare, hope you are alright now, hope all goes well with the scan.
Better go or the afternoon will be over

Hi Guys!
Thanks for lovely messages and PM's.
I managed to go out for lunch:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j...and I even put on some make-up and it made me feel a little more human. OH took me to a lovely pub that do posh meals. We sat in the over 18 section as I didnt want to be near any screaming brats:D and I had:
HM Organic Chicken Liver Pate, Brioche with Onion & Rowanberry Marmalade
Slow Roasted Belly Pork infused with Ginger, Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Braised Cabbage. It was supposed to come with spinach but I cant have too much of that with my meds. I also had a small drink which I'm not supposed to have but it was delish.....well you only live once:D
OH had:
Organic Spinach & Stilton Soup & Rustic Roll/Curled Butter
FR Chicken Breast wrapped in Streaky Bacon & Cheddar, Chips & Roasted Sweet Veg.
We have just got in and OH is making a fresh coffee for us both as they wanted £3.50 for one:eek::eek::eek:
I am really pleased with myself for getting out.
DD has text to say she is there safe and sound. We have hired out a couple of films to watch which is a novelty for us as we usually have a free trial going on somewhere.
Washing is all dry and we have tons of ironing. Still havent got anyone doing the ironing to save on pennies, but may see if anyone local is reasonable as we have quite abit.
House clean and tidy.
OH has an oestio (sp) appointment later as he fell down the stairs and jarred his back again. He got caught in the stairlift when he fell and I thought he had mangled his arm. It was Harry Potter's fault though!
:rotfl:
Halight-Glad the little one is okay. You feel helpless when you cant do anything. Just lots of cuddles.
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((smokey/Twink))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Anyway, have a good Friday.

PenPin - your meal sounds lovely! Glad you got out and enjoyed yourself.
Halight - Glad the twinnies are getting some sleep and hope they wake recovered.
PippaS - thanks. it was very scary at the time, but such a relief to know all was OK. I felt a bit silly afterwards for making a fuss, but the MW at the EPU in the hosp was lovely and very understanding. I'd seen her with both my ectopic and the MC, so she was really excited to know that we had a success this time, and gave me a big hug!
Well, back from scan, and the Little One was very badly behaved (hope that's not a sign of things to come LOL!). 1st sonographer could not get clear view, then the 2nd one she called in got it clearer, but LO wouldn't stay still to be measured, then curled up in a little ball! They 'think' I am now a couple of days behind my original dates, but it's a bit of guesswork and not an exact science, so I'm sticking to my orignal date of March 7th - at least in my head!
Hope everyone has a good w/e - I've got nothing exciting planned, but hoping to have the energy to give the kitchen a deep clean, and do some baking!

I soooo agree. It can really spoil the occasion if there are undisciplined little ankle-biters running riot. Not that any of our OS friends' children would be like that.:oPenny-Pincher!! wrote: »I managed to go out for lunch:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j...and I even put on some make-up and it made me feel a little more human.
