Can someone please clarify this for me. I booked and paid by Visa Credit Card. The total was £113, but this was for 2 flights.

Am I correct in reading that because each flight was worth less than £100 I am entitled to nothing?? Or have I missed something.

I thought that Visa Credit Card was the way to go, but looks like I may have been better off with a debit card in this instance

    :(

Don't forget that you have what I call "second tier" low-cost airlines. I.E. those who offer numbered seats and a bit more basic service. These include Air Berlin, Jet2.com, BMI baby, FlyBE and Monarch. I would have thought that they should survive. They cater for people who don't want to be bothered with the likes of Ryanair

From my experience and that of some of my friends, I would not say that BMI Baby are any better than Ryanair.

I agree Jet2, FlyBe and Monarch are better, never been on Air Berlin.

According to the MSE Help for Debit Card Payments info, you may be able to get money back under 100 quid if it was paid for on a Visa Credit Card. It reads:
"...there is something else to fall back on if you paid on a Visa debit card, or Visa credit card under £100 (otherwise go for Section 75). Known as Visa Chargeback, this is part of Visa’s internal rules and not a legal requirement".

Provided it was one transaction you should be fine. If it was 2 transactions of £56 each then it may be an issue. If its one transaction for x amount of tickets it won't matter, the point is its over £100 and on your credit card.

Edit: just reread the article, I'm not sure whys it imply it has to per for each leg, just go to your credit card company anyway as its over £100 in total. I've not heard of this before.

Yep, was definately 1 transaction, the total charged to the card was 128 Euros which came through at £113. This was for return flights, i.e. 2 seperate legs but listed as a total amount on my receipt, not per leg.

I have disputed the transaction with Barclays and will be submitting the paperwork tommorrow so fingers crossed it is all okay.

Not with a Visa Electron card, though. So anyone who's booked using one, please note. Sorry!

Chargeback should work with a Visa Electron card just like other Visa debit cards.

If you are already at the destination or have rented a car through SkyEurope's business partner, you may stay at the hotel and use the vehicle during the period originally agreed. You must, however, order a return flight from some other airline at your own expense.

Charming! No apology, just an instruction.

    It's the Slovakian way...
SkyEurope heavily promoted a payment method called Paysafecard - no credit / debit card charges were applied, similar to Ryanair with Electron.
I booked my flights this way - Paysafecard have already refused to refund. £58 down the gurgler.
