thanks pastures - i think this was the case i recalled - at the time mortgage application docs were available on the LR website - so all manner of personal information was being "leaked" by LR to anyone who had £3
  • ive got a solicitor and ive told the land registry i havent told the police yet cause im waiting to hear back from the land registry.i only asked on hear because. maybe someone had previous experience of it happening to them

BEATS ME WHY YOU ARE WAITING TO HEAR FROM LAND REGISTRY:confused:

If you have the documentation its an open and shut case, unless there is something you forgot to tell us!!

  • Ian you have obviously forgotten about that stag-do in Edinburgh! it doesn't suprise me though - you were steaming!
You lost your half of the property in a poker game - your brother got the house and I got your car but then I sold it back to you so I could have some more lap-dances. What a weekend!

Even more risky to landlords with no mortgage, tenants have copies of signatures from the tenancy agreement and could easily use them to transfer property into their name.

Thats good news, but plain terrible that they aren't interested. Especially as for some, a property is part of a pension plot.
  • Does OP live in the house? If so just sit tight and refuse to move out if brother in law tries to sell it.

As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.

I find this all very hard to believe. I've heard of shoplifting, but come on . . . if you were going to choose something to steal, the last thing you'd choose is a bloody house.

Imagine how big the getaway car is going to have to be.

On my other PC I have a handy link (for use here) which tells the story of how a landlord's tenant signed over the rented house to himself .... so anything's possible.

It might not need to be too big .... after all, we do have the smallest houses in the world.
