Alex, I know what you mean about being skint, but it is a wonderful feeling on payday when you can afford a treat, even if it's something small like a magazine or cup of tea with a friend :o

I'm taking the day off work on 1st March (using up one of the 6 lieu days I've already accumulated!) - the car is going to be valeted because it's utterly vile and I'm walking into town and treating myself to a mini spending spree at Primark. My wardrobe has no basics in it so I'm desperate for a few bits and bobs. Mustn't go mad though! Oh I'm so looking forward to it, all this weekend working and lack of days off is really dragging me down.
Alex - that daisy dress is sooo cute, not sure about the cricket jumper how would you wear it?

I really don't know, I just want one :o Probably just to be all casual and slouchy in, jeans and either pumps or boots? I am so poor at putting outfits together. I just buy things I like and hope it all works out in the end.

Aw Alex, that sounds like a good plan! It's nice to have a specific day off in mind for shopping as well :)

I do that too, alex..I usually buy things I like, without thinking about how/what they'll go with, and i have no basics in my wardrobe..i need plain tops, but the only ones i tend to buy are patterned ones, as they are what jump out at me..

can't wait until my shopping trip to liverpool, in the process of putting together a proper list of things i need, including why / what they will go with..organised shopping!

Organised shopping is the best way! It's how I curbed my impulse buying habits and it gives me a real sense of satisfaction to tick things off my list!
I'm also quite sad and budget a max price I'll pay for each piece, I love coming in under budget and having spare money for a nice coffee!
  • funny isn't it because I've ended up with too many basics and not enough funky pieces! I think it's because I went through a looonnngg phase of buying what I fancied and ended up with nothing to wear because nothing went with nothing else, so then i went through a phase of buying plain clothes and basics and now I've got nothing exciting to wear!!

I'm terrible at shopping, just awful... so disorganized! I seem to buy stuff which doesn't go with anything else I own and I have no basics whatsoever. I'm so picky about hemming and pattern matching, I'm sure the local shop assistants flinch when they see me coming in because I turn everything inside out and complain about prices and never buy much of anything. :p
