Yes I do know that...but bear with me if I can share a recent experience. I recently applied to Virgin/MBNA, just under a week, got declined online and to check Experian. 1 day, 2 days...cannot see any searches. As I wanted to have more details about why I was declined, I called virgin who confirm that they did a search, so my reply was to them "well I can't see it" and she said can take up to a week!!! yes a week for me to see it. Anyway, I asked her what was the reason for being declined and she said that it was due to a credit card I have with Natwest which has not been run long enough (december 08), but I know for a fact that Natwest CC does not appear on Experian but only on Equifax. The CC I have on Experian is a Citi card which I have had since 2003 and that I have recently close. I argued my points with her...but she was extremely rude. Maybe in the end I might be better off without them when I see how I was spoken to.

MBNA would not be told who your creditor are, they are just told if an account is a current account, credit card, loan etc.

Experian do have problems with their systems sometimes where for some reason searches can appear on Credit Expert then disappear only to re-appear a few days later, however, this is only what you see.

A lender looking at your file will see if a seach was carried out 1 second before they just carried out a search.

As I said what you see on the screen and what the lender see is not the same thing.

She did not say it was natwest but she did say CC account since 2008 which is the one, but Natwest CC is not on Experian
