Do searches etc go on your credit report straightaway?

Looking at getting a copy of my credit report from Experian and/or Equifax this week after getting rejected for a credit card and was wondering how long it generally takes for searches to appear. If they appear instantly, at least I'll have something up to date rather than things appearing days or weeks later.

It really depends, my own personal experience Equifax searches generally appear on my file within 2 days, but I have noticed that experian can sometimes take 4/5 days. it might be wise to wait an extra few days.

It is instaneous from the point the search is carried out, so if you applied today but were not searched until friday the search would show immediately it was done on friday.

How do you know? Do you have access to my CRA files? ;)

I stand by my earlier post.

So we have a split vote then.

I've e-mailed James Jones at Experian for the 'official' answer. :)

Jut to clear this up - Experian searches are visible immediately, Equifax are also visible immediately however in some circumstances (Which I am privy to through my own experience) Equifax searches that have been carried out lets say on Monday have not been visible until several days later, I check my reports daily.
