    Morning all
A bit overcast here today, not a bad thing as DD & I are taking the DGC on a boat trip. DGS is already panicking in case we sink, poor little soul is a real worry wort.
Hubby's had his cooked breakfast & been dropped at work, he'll probably walk home as I won't be home in time to collect him. The line is full of washing, but I'm running out of things to wash, lol.
    Love the Alice band Celyn.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning All :hello:

Been MIA - work has been completely mad and we went away for the weekend to Pontins, had a fantastic time the weather was superb (a little too hot actually ). Wasnt restfull as we were active all the time & OH sprained his knee ligaments as were we all playing rounders but still feel quite refreshed.

Anyway back to reality now and have huge to do lists. Having so many phone calls so not much else is being done but hopefully it will taper off & I can get my life back up straight. We did most of the washing yesterday as it was so hot some on the line now. Not looking too great but we will see. Have no food in the house so need to sort an online delivery.

Will lock myself in the office this morning then off to take DD to the orthodontist as her brace as rubbed the side of her mouth red raw, then popping into town for some bits including a Starbucks Frappacino which I have now discovered that I love.

Ironing may or may not get done  but I guess its not going anywhere:D

Snoozer (((hugs))) to you, hope you managed to enjoy some of your anniversary

    Bargainbird  at oh's head.

    Morning OS chums hi.gif
    welcome2.gifto Foxblade
Donny gal - that is a good idea, thank you very much but I actually need someone for more manual garden stuff rather than the veg or flowers, my OH and I have a handle on that.
Lame - hope you don't miss molly-dog too much
Scuzz - So happy for you and your doggie
Squiggles - great to see you posting hon
Randomer - well done honey and keep with it, I am not as OS as some on here but I do try!
Bitsy - I tend to put a pinch of good old colemans mustard powder in anything that I am cooking that has cheese in it as it seems to bring out the flavour well.
LemonV - I had something similar happen on the hill opposite me. They built new houses and the three tree tops I used to see as I gazed out of my home office window were cut down and I felt really bereft for ages, so I can empathize.
Ocemeer - nice to see you posting again
Thriftlady - I read an article a long time ago that after the war, Britains greengrocers asked that no fruit trees be planted in public places as the free fruit would effect their businesses so it has become tradition to only plant ornamental trees. It's a shame though, I agree.
Celyn - that is a lovely hair band!
bargainbird - hope your hubbie is OK
Oh my gosh wasn't yesterday HOT? There wasn't a breeze all day and even in the garden in the shade it was almost too hot to function! Managed to catch up on looking after the brassicas - had a lot of caterpiller culling to do! The exciting thing for me is that the broccolli plants that I had already harvested a head from have now sent out new shoots and I have four or five new little heads growing!
Managed to get hold of my godson who is off work right now and he came and spent the day painting the fence which was great.
Dinner was a sausage and bean spicy casserole and tonight will be the leftovers of that with a salad; especially as I harvested my first carrots and shallots yesterday which was fun, plus more lettuce and radishes of course! Am sat with the dried garlic I harvested a week or so ago, having a go at plaiting them to hang in the kitchen. Another sunny day here in Devon which is great.
Warm gentle hugs.gif to anyone who needs one today.

Hi everyone. Hope you all have the sun again today. It's lovely here; have lots of washing drying on the line.

Celyn - I love your Alice band!

    Bitsy - good luck!

Bargainbird - hope DH is not too sore.

Aussie - what are snags? (Are they sausages?)

Halight - nice to know your real name, Richard!

OS-wise, we have tarragon chicken with salad and new potatoes for dinner, followed by fresh fruit salad (grapes, peaches and bananas) with creme fraiche. It's all been prepped ready.

Last night we helped our friends with their fish and chip van. It was their first time on a new site, which is just up the road from us. Luckily, my DH decided to come with me - just as well because we were really busy and served 140 meals from a van no bigger than a small motorhome! It was a great night, just outside a bar in a beautiful little village. The garden has a lovely river at the bottom of it. The bar owners had set up petanque and basketball, and we had a real mix of Brits and French (who love fish, chips and scampi, once they've had it explained to them!). We were rushed off our feet but it was a great night with a fantastic atmosphere. For now, they will be there every other Tuesday, but I won't be able to help next time because I will be in the UK, once we get the phone call that grandchild-to-be is on the way. The bar owners are Australian and are going back there for two months in September, so the next time I'll be able to help will be in November, I expect.

Well, we are just waiting now to hear that the baby is on the way, then we shall start getting our trip back to the UK underway. It's all getting really exciting now - the due date is Saturday, so it's really any time now! Without a definite date for a trip, I keep trying to make sure we are as ready as possible, but then real life keeps interfering. I wish I could just pack and not have to cook, clean and so on! It would make life easier. The thing is, as DIL says, if we get there before the baby is born, and then she is late, we'll have to leave too soon, so it makes sense to get there and be able to spend as much time there as possible with them all.

Anyway, I have some 'proper' work to do, so I'd better get on with it.

    Morning All
I haven't been around for ages although I try to keep up with the daily doings. I don't have much to talk about and I have been very unOS lately. I have had Shingles and been quite ill with it, this is the 4th week and I'm still not fully recovered. What a horrible illness!
We've been having freezer lucky dip but both freezers are still quite full, DH is getting a bit annoyed about the amount of food I like to keep in stock. I must try to use up some more stuff because I need to defrost the freezers, hopefully before we go away next month.
We did have a bit of excitement, I let the dog out the other night when DH was in bed and suddenly the hound started barking hysterically. We live in a bungalow so I peered out of the bedroom window and could see that hound had something cornered but couldn't see what it was. By now DH was awake and I told him he would have to go out. He wasn't too keen. Anyway I looked out again and there was Dh with not a stitch on, wielding the clothes prop at the monster which was a huge hedgehog. What a sight, I'm just glad the old lady next door wasn't looking she would have had an attack of the vapours. Of course Dh denied that he was scared. LOL
My hairdresser will be here shortly so then I shall have to clean up the mess.
    Fishcakes for dinner.
Hugs and well wishes to anyone who is ill or worried. Enjoy the day.

    Morning everyone :)

Trying to stay occupied at the mo ... on my summer hols and stoney broke so trying to keep occupied doing things without spending money! Unfortunately my Nan has taken a turn for the worse lastnight and admitted to hospital and all family called in as this time it seems like its a matter of hours/days ..so we've organised a shift/rota system so one of us is there at all times .. inevitable really as she's nearly 90 ... just worried how my mum will take it as she's been the main carer for the last 7 years and it's all her life has been geared towards since then ... so sat by the phone today not sure what to do around the house to keep me focused, due to go and do my visiting at 6. It is a sad time but as horrid as it seems there is a sense of relief for her as she's really suffered the last 18 months

Yesterday I mowed the lawns and deweeded then popped out for a drive in the sun with OH... today I think I may plan next weeks meals and shopping list, teach the cats to use the cat flap and possibly tackle the spare room :)

    Burp x
