Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Wed 12 Aug! It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning.
Misty and wet here, The sun did come out yesterday and it was not too bad of a day. After work I went over to Newquay with the OH and some kids. Ate KFC and enjoyed the evening sun.

Day off today and it has to be clear out and try and sell a few things day. I am sure we can make a few quid from stuff lying about.

Making American pancakes and syrup for breakfast and possibly roast lamb for tea.

Well have a good one

Morning N9eav and all who follow, blimey it's seven o'clock and hardly a soul is about. I am going to Bluewater today to meet my friend and have lunch in Leons and see a film Probably 'The Taking of Pelham 123'. I also want a wander into Lakeland whilst I'm there, as I want to have a look at their large juice containers. We're off on our holidays next week so a big container is needed for my DD's tribe as we do lots of picnics, there are such a crowd of us, 3 adults and five children .A lot cheaper than having a sit-down meal in a resteraunt for 8. We usually have a take away on the last night. We never tell the children until the Sunday before so at the moment they have no idea that we are off to the Isle of Wight for a week on the 21st.
My DGS had a great time filming yesterday in London as an extra and as they used his car as well he got an extra £10.00. he said Jason Statham was a really nice bloke and very friendly..The weather here is bright and sunny and it looks like another warm day is on the cards.
Well time to toddle I hope everyone has a good day
    Cheers Chums

    Morning :hello:

Doctor's appt at 8.30am so quite organised this morning. The sun is shining so far so who knows what the reat of the day will bring. If it continues we can get out and about, if the rain comes I have plenty of decluttering to get on with.

Need to make some smoked salmon pate later with cream cheese that I bought a while ago and it will be rissoles using leftover lamb for tea.

Better get another coffee. Have a lovely day everyone. x

Good morning :) Hope you are all well :)

I drove to work this morning so was in super-early, but there was no traffic so that was good :) Have already got halfway down today's to-do list, which is always the way when I am on my own in the lab :)

Dinner last night was chicken, some frozen potato thing and mushy peas, which looked really nasty. I liked them when they were green :( Dinner tonight will be quiche if I am home early enough to make it as I have a lot of eggs to use.

I made an alice band out of leather off-cuts and rivets last night - I haven't had the sizzix machine out for a while and felt like a play, I'm really pleased with it :) Will see if I can do a photo later on :)

Here we go: I need to stich some beads over the ribbon end to tidy it up but didn't want to wake OH by pulling out the craft boxes from under the bed. It pulls tight through a loop at the end and works as a necklace as well :)

Have a good day all, cel x

    Morning everyone.
Dull, grey and cloudy. Yesterday started the same and wow what a scorcher that turned out to be! Went to the park with the kids and because it was so dull I didn't pack sun cream or hats. Lessons to be learnt by me to pack for EVERY eventuality - I am such a bad mummy :o

OS wise got the Flylady thread to check out for all my domestic needs. Have got to do some baking and put BM on.

Was going to do tuna, pepper and onion fish cakes for tea but can't see a tin of tuna in the cupboard.......

Had an answer phone message to call Ofsted yesterday. Think this is the call regarding my next inspection so they can grade me  Am now panicking like a headless chicken as I've only had my mindee for a total of 16 hours and haven't done any planning etc yet. I wonder if as I've only just started they'll give me a months grace. Ho hum find out when I ring.

Hugs to all those that need them.
Have a good day OS or not.

    Morning everyone,

Been a bit overcast this morning but sunny this arv. Played Leggo most of the morning with DGS. We had toy dinosaurs so went with the theme of a zoo. :D I'm about as hopeless with building the stuff as I was when I had littlies. After lunch we visited a friend on the island who has a little girl his age. Stayed for a couple of hours. Not long been home and just taken the clothes off the line and need to sort out tea shortly. Having snags with onion gravy & veggies.

Haribo Hope it all goes well with your appt. Those pregnancy tests can be wrong you know. :D

Well I'll get going. Enjoy your day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning peeps

nasty and wet here today, it`s absolutely tipping it down, i`ve just been down to the greenhouse to open the window and got soaked. Shame really as i am on the later shifts now for several days and i was planning some work in the garden this morning.

Last night i made the beetroot chutney :j all but one jar sealed so that one will go into the fridge to be eaten first, i pickled the beets that were left over so i`m feeling really pleased as my preserves cupboard was absolutely bare. Nice for some hampers later in the year too as it looks lovely, i shall design some labels at some point.

Tea tonight is chilli, DH will be having rice with his but i shall just have the chilli as i`m still low carbing for at least another month. I also made the chilli last night so that the flavours can mingle, i always think that it tastes better the next day.

Snoozer - Belated Anniversary wishes, hope that your Dad is feeling better and that your delivery arrived yesterday. I agree with everyone else, take time out later to celebrate your anniversary.

Haribo - Good luck at the docs

Celyn - I love the alice band :D

I`m off to dig out some weatherproof clothes shortly as the houndies are waiting for their morning walk, the weather never seems to put them off

    Have a nice day peeps.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
