Is "stargate" the way you got here? Who damaged your car, not the Goa'uld was it? This one is more simple, just a normal hit and run, let the insurance and the police sort it.
(PS I'm a male obviously, but Amanda Tappping is ok)

As opposed to the OP actually admitting that they MAY have damaged the car and speak to the guy civilly to resolve?

From another of the OP's posts - the irony of it....
Got a really nice job lined up starting on Monday. Very excited about it, 1st "proper" job in 5 years after having kids etc. Is a step down from last position. Pays enough to just scrape by with childcare etc.

The only way to deal with this now is :
    1. Go to your local Police station and report the incident (legal requirement).
    2. Contact your insurance company and tell them that someone is claiming you hit their vehicle but you don't have the details yet.

A couple of questions for the OP if/when they come back.
    1. What were you driving? (make/model)
    2. What is he claiming you hit? (make/model)
    3. Have you seen the damage to his vehicle and do you have pics?

You need to let the Police know otherwise you will be prosecuted for 'leaving the scene of an accident and refusing to give your details'. If you don't tell the insurance company they could refuse to cover the claim as you are supposed to niforma them as soon as it is reasonable to do so after an incident. If there is no claim it won't affect your premiums.

The guy may have just spotted the damage to his car after the incident and thinks you vehicle caused it, or he may be just trying it on. But once the Police are involved you will have a better chance of clearing it up.

A few years back I was driving past a school when a woman opened her car door as I went past, the only contact my car had with hers was the side of my car and the door of hers. She also refused to supply details until the Police got involved, and her claim included a lot of damage to the rear of her vehicle, easily disproved by looking at both cars and the statements at the time.

Just trying to bury your head in the sand and hoping this will go away will just make things worse and not help you in the long run. You need to be open and get information to fight this claim if it's false or get it settled if it's true.

This sounds totally wrong to me.

A couple of years ago my car was damaged in a local DIY store car park while I was shopping. Luckily, some workers there witnessed it and took the details of the vehicle which fled the scene. I contacted the police, who (as there were no injuries) were absolutely not interested as it was not on the public highway. Although sympathetic, they would not even help out with supplying name and address of the driver, so I contacted my insurance company and they sorted it out with no problems.

Why don't you speak to the fella next time you see him in this car park? Just walk straight up and start a friendly conversation. Most people are pretty reasonable. This fella is obviously annoyed that you appeared to have damaged his car and did a runner. Personally, I would have followed you! ;) I don't know if you've mentioned your vehicle type, but if you have a sturdy one, it is possible that you could have touched him and not noticed. Both of you need to look at each others vehicles (at the suspected point of contact) and then make a decision.

From your post, when you left car park you didn't think you had hit anything. All you saw was a bloke shouting and using the car horn. Now correct if I am wrong but that is a pretty typical response of a male chauvinst pig who thinks you got too near his pride and joy( remember men think women can't drive). I don't blame you for driving off and, as fars as you are concerned, nothing happened so you don't have to report anything.

As for the CCTV you are getting 3rd party opinions and the best they can say is 'looks' like you hit him (was the bloke standing over their shoulder giving a running commentary?). Look at it for yourself. Also as said before, is it possible you dented the bonnet? What kind of vehicle do you drive? It has to be a high vehicle to dent a bonnet as normally the 1st point of contact is the bumper ( it's in the name). Also have a look on your vehicle to see if their is any of the other cars paint.

The Nursery can't give out your details full stop. Now I wonder why he didn't leave his details with them?

Once you've looked at the CCTV I would give the police a ring and have a chat with them about it.

P.S. I am one of those people who've have had their car damaged in a car park (once badly) so am not biased!
