    Good work Martin & co.

The millions of people who have been affected physically and emotionally by this devastation is beyond comprehension. Certainly puts things into perspective for me.

I've made a personal donation and will be seeking support that my company's annual christmas charity donation in lieu of sending christmas cards goes to the Tsunami relief effort too.

Think thats a great idea and I'm off to add my own contribution - keep thinking of all the money I've saved on here, so will go and try to put it to good use
Brilliant people on here as I've just watched the news and am feeling completely useless.

PS my thoughts are with the people who've got family and friends missing out there

I just watched the news and found it absolutely harrowing...... but I can have no concept of the devastation the people directly involved must be feeling now. My heart goes out to them and anyone waiting for news.

If we all give something, it won't make it better, but perhaps it can help a little bit.
  • Excellent decision Martin.

Undoubtedly the single most catastrophic event that any of us have ever known, and worthy of extraordinary measures to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
  • Well done Martin. £7000 is a fantastic amount. I've just made a personal donation too. The picture of the parents carrying their children haunts me.
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)

An important request has been placed on the 1st page of MSE Click here I don't ordinarily check the main site regularly, but simply follow the Money Tip links. So click, read & absorb. All the important information can be found at this page.

    Regards
    Tony
  • It would be nice if all the people with referrer links in their signatures, legal or otherwise, donated any money gained for a month or so?

I was asked to refer someone on Sunday to TalkTalk and having just watched the news at the time I said I would send my referral fee to any fund that would be set up. The MSE user kindly said that they too would donate any money/credit received.

Referral money is money that would not normally be in the equation if you weren't using MSE so it seems fair to add at least some of it to Martin's donation.

Thank you all for your kind messages and support - we've heard today that my cousin and his wife are safe and well and in the north of the country where there has been no major damage. We're all so relieved and it's so good to know they are safe, but it's horrible to know that so many people round the world will not be so lucky. my heart goes out to those who are still waiting for news - i know from experience now how horrible that is and how powerless you feel.

Thank you all once more. all the support we've had from friends, family and strangers has kept the family going. you're all wonderful.

And I am so glad to hear that the money has gone to the appeal - as has been said upthread, if it saves even one life it's worth it in my eyes. Thanks Martin, and everyone who's posted.
