eeek "borrowed" a loaf of bread off my grandad (he wont use it cos is going into hospital for a week!) and lent my car to my mum last week and she half filled it with petrol for me! he he!
and spent NOTHING all weekend!
(is this what it has come to?! pinching bread of the elderly?!!!!)0 -
Had a look at my wardrobe and got horrified that I have nothing smart and spring-like to wear - so while not a DFW thing to do, bought a couple of really nice tops for work:
* Cream blouse with gorgeous rose embroidery - £12 from George (it looks much more expensive, so hurrah!).
* Had my eye on a very smart shirt in Kookai but couldn't afford the £45 price tag! Found exactly the same thing on ebay for £17!
Also did my weekly shop in Asda - bought Smart Price salmon fillets for £2.29 instead of Youngs for £3.49 (four fillets in each pack); and Smart Price cottage cheese for 23p a tub instead of 45p for tubs with fancy packaging.
Spent a very happy evening in the kitchen with a bottle of Stardrops. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
I spent two hours doing my friends ironing and earned £10. Then did my own ironing. Sorted through some paperwork. Had a freecycler collect an exercise machine and did a bit of general tidying up. Am about to take in a pair of trousers and a skirt for above mentioned friend now, but I might linger on here a while longer...0

Spent the day cleaning (stardrops and microfibre cloths) and washing, ironing etc.made some HM soup to put in fridge and 3 boxed salads for DD,DH and myself for tomorrows lunches.
Updated birthday and xmas present lists (bought a couple of gifts in sales this week),and did stockcheck of kitchen cupboards.Seem to have a glut of cordial and fizzy drinks. After puzzling
have decided that new fridge is the reason.... recently bought big fridge with water and ice dispenser which kids think is fab,and they always fill their glasses up with ice before adding drinks. As a result their cordial, fizzy intake has about halved.... sneaky way of getting them to drink more water.Must make a mental note to buy less pop.
Managed to do a whole day without spending anything!!!!!! and finally got some £2 coins too from DH. :j
