O2 contract..phone upgrades...BIG RIP OFF!

Ok so here's a reply from O2 regarding an upgrade....the query wasn't about tariff....i'e' minutes or texts or internet....it was specifically about the accessories that come with the Nokia 5800 phone supplied in the upgrade...

"Each upgrade offer differs from customer to customer"

so obviously some ****er (rhymes with banker) decides what accessories to keep in the box...before it gets sent out...or in my case....takes some of the Nokia bits out....

Even with all the adverse publicity Vodafone have been getting here recently, I wish now I had changed to them from O2 and not stayed.

Why?....seeeemples as my meerkat friend would say......I would have got a better tariff, for txts , minutes AND internet....PLUS...I would have got ALL the accessories with the Nokia....and an even bigger PLUS...I would have got £90 for signing up with Vodafone through Quidco as a new customer....my daughter was right....missed out on a better deal....

:mad:O2....someone has nicked my Nokia accessories...thats right....O2 scum!

Lesson learned....most service providers are rubbish....so go for the one that gets you the best cashback through Quidco or TopCashback....because innevitably you'll not benefit staying where you are!

  • I'm fast aproachingthe end of my O2 contract...18th August. Previoulsy I've had nothing but positive experiences with them and have been a customer for about 7years. However, seeing as I don't really want an iPhone they are giving people no choice but to like, like removing things from a package, as above, that should come as standard.

I think O2 are going to come back to earth with an almihgty bump, realising thye've lost a mass of loyal customers. For us its tough, however for those whose contract ends jump as that bump occurs you may well cash in in a very large scale with an abundance of offers, phones and retentions plans to die for!
  • Don't be ridiculous. Box contents are standard. Here is what's included in the Nokia 5800 box. Anything extra you feel you should have recieved is likely to have been an add on offer at the point of upgrade. Nobody has gone into the box and removed any items!

Standard Nokia 5800 in box contents:

  • Strange, my 5800 which I received on Saturday also included a composite TV cable, a phone stand and a lanyard with what appears to be a guitar plectrum on it.

That may have been a package exclusive to your network.

Above is the standard sealed box contents.

It should state on the box what should be included.

you have either 7 or 14 days to send the handset back if your not happy
    Yes Your Dukeiness :D
  • The reason for the difference in box contents is the age of the stock.

The 5800s that were first shipped had all the standard items that mistysmoth listed plus av cable, phone stand and plectrum shaped stylus.

All the newer 5800s now have only the standard items included.

So if the retailer you but the handset has old stock you will get all the extras, if the retailer has new stock you won't.

TBH alot of manufacturers seem to be doing this of late, I guess its to cut costs.

thanks Littlemiss 27...I can see where you are coming from...but....all providers have run out of 5800 stock in recent times....so they should all be issuing "new" stock...vodafone is one...and they include the a/v cable and stand....if anything then O2 have messed up by telling me what you get depends on your upgrade...

O2....scum...get your PAC...go somewhere else...get a better deal AND cashback
