Wise words! And congratulations on going 4p in the right direction!
I've gone a lot more than 4p in the wrong direction this month, so I'm not going to update my signature, it's too depressing.
Good idea to use the savings to buy BF's present - and good luck with all those ebay items. I'm sure there are still plenty of buyers out there.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Hey Seaxwyn
Im really surprised i actually managed to pay anything off!!! I've not been keeping a note of anything i've been spending at all. Im determined im going to try and keep a spending diary (of sorts) im going to keep all my receipts for everything and then see exactly where all the money is going.
So far this month i've only spent £4.10 and that was on two drinks in the pub last night were we were meeting friends... I had a diet irn bru (which was only £1 but the boyfriends drink was £3.10  ) so not that impressed but it was a good night catching up and it could have been much more expensive!!!
I emptied my two piggy banks and managed to scrape together £10.00 so have paid that towards the tv licence card so that most of this months payment is put away... it means when i get the money from the boyfriend later in the month i can use the extra £10 for something i might need to get.
I made homemade bread and cooked a chicken in the slow cooker last night so that has done us for dinner last night and tonight and am hoping there's enough bread left to get a sandwich out it for lunch 2moro :rotfl: I'll make some more homemade bread 2moro night when im off so that will save me going to the shop.
So far this month i've spent £3.10 will try and update so that i have an idea of what silly things i spend my money on

Well today's spending didn't go too well. I went to make a sandwich to take to work this morning only to find that there was enought bread to make just one small sandwich and there was nothing else i could take with me for my break either.
I made one sandwich but was so hungry at work that i ended up eating it before lunchtime.... so i went and bought a toasted sandwich which cost £2.50 and wasn't that nice  . I went for a look around the charity shop and bought myself a nice brown top for £1.00 :j but again i didn't really need itI have so many clothes just need to get them ironed and off the livingroom floor!!!!
I also got some chocolate and some kitchen foil out of the pound shop so thats another £2 spent
I had to buy some toothpaste so went into my work and got some of the shops own brand stuff (as i get 30% discount off all own brand products) and it was buy one get one free so i got 2 tubes of toothpaste for 90p :T
So in total today i've managed to spend £6.40 not a great deal but more than i would have liked to spend (especially as i only really needed the toothpaste and the kitchen foil!)
I wasn't working in my 2nd job so made some more homemade bread tonight... which i will need to take out the breadmaker soon. I also listed 17 things on ebay tonight bringing my total items listed to 256 and i finally have 2 bids on 2 items with a grand total of £5.99 :j well its better than nothing!
Total spend in June so far £9.50
I will aim for a few no spend days soon but im going to my keepfit class at lunchtime 2moro so that will cost me £1.50 but thats budgeted for.
Buddiebabe xDEBT OUTSTANDING 23.04.17 £16802.970 -
Thought id better update the spending for this month.
Yesterday i bought a scone for my tea break in the morning which was 55p and then i went to my keep fit class which cost me £1.50 - total spend yesterday £1.55
Today i managed to take my lunch with me to work and had something with me for my tea break so i didn't spend anything at lunch time. I burnt myself on the steam from the kettle on Sunday and also on the slow cooker and both burns had blisters on them. I kept banging the one on my hand and the blister burst so it's not healing up at all cause i keep banging it into everything  so tonight at work i invested in some burn plasters £4.90 for 5 but i managed to get them buy one get one free and i got the shops own brand so got them for £3.43 and i had to buy myself a bit of chocolateso that was 44p
I went to Morrisons tonight to get something for my dinner and spent £2.18
so total spend for today £6.05
That brings June spending up to £17.10 so far thats £3.42 per day
Now i know i don't have that kind of money for spending everyday... i think im going to really need to try and do a shopping list with lunches and tea breaks in mind for work.
At work there is a free carpark but not enough spaces for everyone to use so we used to get 3 hours parking in the supermarket and then be able to move our car. The only problem now is that they have fitted cameras that will automatically send out a £70 ticket  so it is now a race to get to work in the morning!!! I've managed to get up and be at work for 8am the past two days but it's starting to take effect now im so tired and just want to sleep and i think its only going to get worse now as i'll need to be there at 8am every day to ensure i get a space as there is no way i can afford £70.00 for being late for work. If i cant get into the car park in the morning im looking at a 15 - 20 min walk to the nearest other point of free parking!
It's a charity day at work 2moro which means that we have to pay £2 for dressing in our own clothes. I don't have a problem supporting charities but its not really optional so i will be spending £2.00 at work 2moro
Anyway im going to go get something to eat now and work out some sort of shopping list for next week
Buddiebabe xDEBT OUTSTANDING 23.04.17 £16802.970 -
Well its been a mixed weekend. I ended up having to work all weekend which means extra money in my wages but it did result in me spending more money than i would of if i'd had time to do a proper shopping list and shop about for things instead of running around at the last minute buying anything that would save time.
I spent more than i would shopping at the weekend and then again today...
I feel absolutely shattered and have no energy for anything... let alone money saving.
I have checked my online balances and have just enough money to cover everything until i get paid this week. It means the next few days are going to be quite tight money wise but im hoping i really won't be spending much money as i think there is enough to keep me going until pay day.
As im so tired i've not been keeping on top of anything. The livingroom is piled high with ironing to be done and the washing basket is full again... its never ending. Its really getting me down at the moment. Im working every night this week and all day Saturday too... im just trying to think of the money but at the moment im really struggling to do that!
I have a weeks holiday booked for next week from both jobs so from Saturday night onwards i can have a rest. I know the week is going to be spent cleaning and tidying  but its the only time its going to get done so don't really have a choice!
Anyway im going to go get some dinner and maybe try and do some ironing sitting on the couch watching tv :rotfl:

TOTAL PAID OFF SINCE 01.01.08 £2548.58 :j
Well total paid off this month is £508.04 and that's all the debt payments made this month. The only problem is that in order for me to do this i have had to dip into my savings for the house and the car.
So i now have the following in savings:
Road Tax £175.04
Car Insurance £88.70
MOT & Servicing £37.00 now £20.00 (had to use £17.00 out of this for debt payments)
House Repairs £64.35
House Insurance £92.01
Gas bill £106.83
Car Insurance Excess £0 (had to use this for debt payments)
House Insurance Excess £0 (had to use this for debt payments)
Total in cash savings £813.93 now £546.93 (had to use £327.00 for debt payments)
TV Licence £96.00
Christmas Savings
ASDA card £25.00
SUPERDRUG card £25.00
MORRISONS stamps £22.00
Works Savings Account £151.91
Total in xmas savings £223.91
So although i have managed to pay off £500+ this month i have had to use my excess savings to do this.
I've been finding it really hard to keep on top of things due to being constantly shattered all week and i ended up just spending on my SKY card which i always pay off in full every month but this month i wasn't paying as much attention to what i've been spending so really overspent this month. I didn't buy anything big just extra shopping but didn't put the money away for it so i started to panic when the bills came in.
I still have to put away the following this month:
£15.90 car insurance
£17.00 MOT and Servicing (this is the money i used to pay the debts)
£50.00 MOT and Servicing (normal monthly payment)
£11.67 house insurance
Totals £94.57
I also want to pay back the £60 and the £250 for the house and car insurance excess that i had to use.
Now its my boyfriends birthday next week and he wanted boxing gloves so i ordered them off the internet and was going to use the money out my savings account to do this, however, the shop he wanted them from only accepted paypal so i used the money i'd made from ebay to buy them but im going to take the £40.00 out the works savings account to put towards the house insurance excess of £60.00 which will only leave another £20.00 to cover that.
Sorry for the long post i just had to write it down to see what i've still got to do to get to the end of the month!!!!
Going to go try and clear out some more stuff to list on ebay and clear the house at the same time!

Hi there
Well i've not been having a great time recently im not feeling too good in myself and that has resulted in me doing some really silly things. I've finally been to see the doctor and managed to get myself sorted out with some anti-depressants which should start to take effect any day now... i hope!!!
I've spent most of the day sorting through bills and bits of paper trying to work out just how much damage i've done to my debt busting plans.... So the new totals are below:
OVERDRAFTS:
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £650.00 OD
TOTAL £650.00
LOANS:
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £12300.96 (49 payments to go)
MUM £785.00
TOTAL £13085.96
CREDIT CARDS:
MBNA £4200.00
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £8000.00
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND 2 £4388.00
TESCO £550.00
TOTAL £17138.00
TOTAL OUTSTANDING £30873.96
TOTAL PAID OFF SINCE 01.01.08 £1940.62
So in the last month i have managed to increase my debt by over £600 (don't ask where it went... i couldnt even tell you!!! I just know it was wasted on Junk!)
I feel like im starting all over again... which i suppose is quite a good feeling cause im actually starting to feel ready to tackle this again... whereas over the last few weeks i've just been buying what i like whenever i like.
It was a blip its over now and im ready to start fighting an uphill struggle!!!!
I've update the snowball calculator and its going to take me 67 months... 5 years and 7 months to pay this all off....
Im determined that things are going to change and that i will make a real effort to get this done this time.
Im setting myself the following goals:
1. Pay mum back before christmas £785.00
2. Pay off Tesco card before christmas £550.00
3. To have paid off £5000 by the end of the year (which means paying off £3059.38) in the next 5 months which works out at £611.87 a month
So i have to pay my loan £251.04 every month so for 5 months = £1255.20 + mum £785.00 + tesco £550.00 = £2590.20 so that would only leave £469.18 which would more than cover my minimum payments.... well thats the idea anyway!!!
So how am i going to pay all this money off??? well i have my wage from my 2nd job and ebay. Im going to find it a struggle but am just going to have to deal with it.
I have the following in savings:
Road Tax £15.04
Car Insurance £120.50
MOT & Servicing £138.23
House Repairs £72.28
House Insurance £115.35
Gas bill £66.72
House Insurance Excess £60
Total in cash savings £588.12
TV Licence £118.00
Christmas Savings
ASDA card £25.00
SUPERDRUG card £25.00
MORRISONS stamps £22.00
Works Savings Account £176.91
Total in xmas savings £248.91
So thats me updated everything now... Apart from setting myself my money goals im setting myself the following to do weekly:
1. List 10 things on ebay
2. Do 10 items of ironing
3. Do 10 competitions
4. Do 10 clickthroughs on cash back sites
5. Update this post at least once a week
Well thats it for now. Am going to look out some stuff for ebay. Will update again soon
Buddiebabe xDEBT OUTSTANDING 23.04.17 £16802.970 -
HI there, sorry to hear you had a bad month, but glad to hear the fighting spirit is back. The target sounds challenging but achieveable - especially if you have some luck on ebay. I like the list of '10s' as well - 'iron 10 things' sounds much more manageable than 'do the ironing'. I am going to think how I can copy that idea myself.
Good luck and hope your next update shows a good dent in the debts.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
