Hi everyone
Sorry i have not posted for quite a while. I've been so busy with work and just living in general!
Well im looking forward to starting a new year. 2007 started as a really bad year but is ending as the best year i've had in a long time. Im really looking forward to putting the worst bits of 2007 behind me.
So whats been happening since my last post??? Well the boyfriend has moved in and its been great finally having someone here who cares for me and wants to be with me... im loving it :j
I've not been feeling too well lately... actually really quite depressed but not about anything in particular. I think what was worrying me was xmas and wanting everything to be perfect making sure the house was cleaned and tidied and just money in general. I went to the doctors as i was constantly in tears for no reason so he reluctantly put me on some anti-depressants, however, after a few days they really started to make me ill so i spoke to him and i have stopped taking them. I have another appointment to see him 2moro.
I have come to the conclusion that everything cant be perfect and that i should really just start to enjoy things without worrying that the dishes aren't done! It does get me down when i think about the mess of the house but its not the be all and end all of everything so i just need to stop worrying!
The money situation hasn't improved much but i have explained to him about all my debts and he wants to do what he can to help. The good thing is that I know i've not been doing everything i need to but as its 2008 in 2 days i can start to rectify that!!!
I did go a bit over the top at xmas but its the first year in a long time that i have actually enjoyed myself so am not going to go on about it. The problem was mainly that i wanted everything to be perfect and my usual way of making things better is buying more and more presents thinking it would make things better but it just makes me feel down for wasting the money.
Im still working both jobs but am not letting my 2nd job take over my life. I have actually refused to take on some extra shifts just so i can have a life.... i've finally come to the realisation that money is not the be all and end all of everything... i know it helps but im not going to let it rule my life at the moment. As long as im doing everything i can to bring my debts down im going to allow myself to have a life!
Its my 30th birthday in january and my mum and sister have organised a party for me so i've got all that to look forward to!
I didn't have all the extra bits and pieces this year from doing clickthroughs or entering competitions as i haven't spent any time doing this so next year its all going to change.... honest... well i have actually started today just hope that i can continue to do it.
Im going to post all my outstanding debts and list everything im going to need to pay out in a seperate post so its easier for me to find it. Im looking forward to getting back into the way of saving and budgeting in 2008 so wish me luck

DEBT FREE DATE ACCORDING TO SNOWBALL CALCUALTOR MAY 2013
The dates beside the amounts is when according to the Snowball calculator i should have the debts paid off by. My overdraft is going to go up and down according to my wages but i do not want it to go over the £750.00 mark if i can help it. The limit is £950.00.
I still have my Skycard credit card which i am using at the moment but i have the exact amount of the balance in my alliance and leicester current account that will cover this so i haven't included that in my list above.
I did manage to close my Barclaycard which was one of the highlights of 2007. My next target is going to be my MBNA card as i hate that company.... the minimum payment each month is just enough to cover the interest so my balance never ever seems to go down at all  so my target for 2008 is pay this off as a priority and then close the account!
The only problems that i can forsee to stop me doing this is that my car insurance and MOT and car service are all due in January and February so i think i will need to use my credit card to pay for all of them as i don't have anything saved for this
Am away to work out what i need to save up for and what i can actually afford  now i know its not going to be pretty so it may take me some time!

That's great that you'ryou and your OH have settled in nicely together. I know what you mean about wanting everything to be perfect - I'm the same and it did get me down a bit that the house was a bit of a tip for Christmas but does anyone really care?! I planned to have a bit of a blitz for the New Year but instead I decided I'd make it a New Year's resolution to try and get everything in order bit by bit instead.
Good luck with the MBNA card! That's my next target as well (Virgin MBNA), as it's on 0% at the moment due to end in a few months. I owe £5k on mine though! I'm sure that you'll manage to get rid of yours in no time at all - have you joined any of the challenges - there are loads of really good ones at the moment.
Happy New Year to you anyway, look forward to reading that you're doing brilliantly over the next few months!0 -
Hi BB just wanted to say hi & hope you had a lovely Xmas - sounds like all is well with you (apart from the depression, but hoping 2008 will help that). Chin up, plan plan plan, and we're all here with you for 2008.
Could be the perfect time to do the free clicking - PM me if you want my help or the daily routine I use, you can see from my siggy it;s worth it.
Have a lovely NY and birthday if I don't 'speak' to you before!MFW #185

Thanks Pandapaws ur right about the house. I've decided that my new years resolution is to get the house completely cleaned and have a major clear out.... but it will be done one drawer or box at a time... anything thats not needed is going out the same with clothes... im really wanting to get started but am loaded with the cold just now and am finding it hard to move away from the computer... i have no energy!
I have already got about 5 boxes of stuff for ebay so should probably start with that... instead of looking out other stuff  cause it will just add to the clutter!!!
I have spent the last few hours logging into all the cashback websites and survey sites i have joined and was amazed to find i had some money in some of them! Im going to have to start doing the daily clicks again as i've worked out that if i log onto each website every day and do them i'd have over £300 by the end of the year.... i know i wont be able to do it every day but am going to aim to do it 4 days out of 7 which would still make me £160.00 over the course of the year.
I have thought about joining a challenge but if im honest i never get the time to devote to it... i end up spending most of my time reading the threads and posting but not actually doing anything to make any money!
If i pay just the minimum payments on my credit cards and the monthly payment on my loan i should clear roughly £4900.00 this year. Its not as much as i'd like but i don't really want to set an unrealistic target. I really need to have a think about what i could realistically achieve. Off to calculate some figures now

Hi buddiebabe, good to hear from you again.
I bet you'll feel relieved when 2007 is over, you had some terrible things happen to you, so I'm glad it's ended up much more positive. Now that there are two of you sharing the bills life should be a little easier too.
I hope the ebay stuff nets a little profit for you to throw more than the minimum at MBNA next month. And hope you have a great birthday. Mine is in January too but alas noone has thought to arrange a party for me.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
