    Hi all,
Just a quick update - we've now ordered our flowers, and picked up our rings. We also went menu tasting last night, which was well worth it - really made us think about some of the tings we'd picked. We also met the chef who gave us some other ideas - all very exciting.

Meeting the cake lady next weekend, now I've picked my flowers, and the invites are almost ready to go out. We've put an RSVP date of 15th May, as I think this should give us enough time to chase down replies, and still get things like table plans and favours sorted.

    xx

Still feeling very awkward about the gift situation. Spoke to someone at work who is getting married in 4 weeks, their invitations say "There is no wedding list but any donations towards the honeymoon would be gratefully received by the bride and groom". To me that still feels like asking for things, I never even ask at birthdays and Christmas so why would I start now? Think I will try and write a short bit to go in our invitations saying we want people to share our day etc.

Are any of you bothering with the old, new, borrowed, blue? My mum mentioned it a while ago and I hadn't thought about it before then. So far everything of mine is new!

we are getting married 23rd July this year too must be a popular date.
i hope the weather will be hot
    not getting married until 3pm
didnt want to be waiting around all afternoon for meals and stuff we are going for the cheaper approach as much as possible. after looking into registry office decided on the church as there was not much difference in price. found a gorgeous venue who don't charge for the venue itself.
    only £6 a head for buffet :D
its set amongst a fishery which sounds a bit dodgy but its got some gorgeous lakes and the biggest piece of laid lawn i've even seen which the patio doors open out on to with picnic benches

    such a happy girlie

only got engaged new years this year so happening pretty quickly. when i asked my oh if he wanted it hot or cold (i thought he would say cold so it was a longer engagement) but he said hot so July it is! doesn't fuss me..:T

    i can not wait!!
bought alot of stuff off ebay. most gorgeous dress rings all sorts foam flowers loves these
    waistcoats in a set
    to much to list

making our own cupcakes and cake and stands
made on invites some from vistaprint
and think i can honestly say have not spent £300 yet plus church and buffet and dj to be paid for

ooh sammy, glad everyone loves your invites. I've just picked up the inserts for ours (MIL- and SIL2B have made the cards - far more creative than me!).

I can't wait to get them written and sent out. We've put a reply date of 15th May on ours - gives people about 6 weeks to reply, but plenty of time for us to chase non-responders and order favours etc, and do the seating plan!

soo exciting - think i'm driving him mad! :j :rotfl:

Forgive me.... been busy... not been on for a few days- or even looked 2BH!

Invites posted- rest to be delivered on Sunday. I'm SO happy with them! Just in the process of making the church/evening invites. I know I can't stop people coming into church, but we're inviting my colleagues from work to make it official!

Just waiting for my Papermill Direct order to arrive so I can print everything.

ASDA- we've found our reception drink and toast drink too- at half price. Knew it would eventually come on offer, just a case of sitting tight! Last night I made a mad 70 mile round trip to buy 10 more bottles of Martini Prosecco and 16 more bottles of Martini Rose- total of £140. Unfortunately the 18 of each I did for home delivery turned up as 9 Prosecco and 3 Rose! Fabulously helpful chappy at Lincoln Asda sorted me out with the rest and even met me at customer services with a trolley and loaded it all in for me! :) £6 prosecco and £5 rose- bargain!
