Hi,
I'm a newbie - came across this forum during one of my many google wedding searches. I'm getting married on July 30th in Birmingham - there seem to be alot of July 30th brides in here!
Jellie - great idea about the vista print save the date cards. My other half is currently on the website looking at ordering save the date cards. I'll let him know about the free ones.
Hope everyone's planning is going well!

It might be worth ordering anything you fancy that is free to start with. You then get emails with offers of freebies pretty much every day. I waited until I got 100 free postcards and used them! You can get the envelopes fro them too at a decent price.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

Hiya,
Another newbie here. We have a provisional date of 23rd July for our wedding. Have booked and paid a deposit on an approved location for the ceremony and pencilled in the registrar (still need to make an appointment to finalise it).
Am struggling with a venue for the do afterwards tho. We had our heart set on somewhere, but they are doing some building work over next summer. So am back to the drawing board now, and have a list of other venues to ring up and find more details on.
I have a budget of £2k so am quite limited on options! Anyone else got a very small budget?

Hello everyone!
Our budget was originally 4000. Looks like we may just go over that but thankfully my dad has offered to pay for the caterers which will help! My tip is ebay! Just got a pair of 2nd hand Rainbow Club shoes which look brand new for £25 - they're £70+ new. Also use other peoples skills - my best friend is making the cake and my step mum is growing the flowers and arranging them. Has saved us loads....

Hi Abi
Congratulations! Have you thought of having your reception in your/parents/relatives garden? We've got quite a tight budget our current venue is my parents backgarden - it's not a huge garden but we'll be having around 50-60 people for a bbq. We are going to decorate the garden with lights, bunting, flowers etc so it'll be like a country chic garden bbq recption! ; )
Last week i came across a venue that's a small restaurant with a beautiful courtyard that we are looking into if we can strech our budget so we can invite more people but our backyard recption is what i've got my heart set on.
Not sure if that's what you are after. Maybe see if you can get a church hall for free? if i think of anything else i'll post it.

Hiya Vikki,
I was wanting an outdoorsy kind of do. But unfortunately neither mine or may parents garden would be big enough. My grandmas probably would be, but shes 80 and not in the best of health, so I won't be borrowing hers.
The place we had our heart set on was a small ish pub, which had 2 marquees permenently errected, one with a dance floor in it and one with tables. It also had a huge garden with a playpark in it. I have a little girl whos 4, so would love some outdoor space for her and her friends to run about in, and also get a bouncy castle etc. The pub and the marquees were a little dated, but it wouldn't have mattered cos it could have been spruced up with some table cloths etc.
Its important we can get outside caterer's in, because anywhere that offers their own buffet food is massively dear and will send us over budget. Am gonna get some help with the catering from a local firm, and also add to it with pasta salads etc. My mum and some friends are going to help out with that.
I'm realising I will have to compromise on either numbers invited, or price, and that I can virtually kiss goodbye to my outdoor space(
I shouldn't have had my heart set on this other place. They did say from the beginning that it was a possibility, I just didn't think that the building work would actually come off.
Have got a village hall etc on my list of places to ring up, finding it a little hard to muster enthusiasm if you know what I mean tho cos it wasn't what I'd pictured....
