Great for making smoothies, even better with a shot of vodka in them! I wouldn't say they're worth anything like the RRP of £60-70 though.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

I bought one from the QVC shopin Warrington in the summer, for £19.99. I brought it home, it sat unopened in the garage and I took it back after 4 weeks, cos I decided that if I couldn't be bothered to unpack it, then I didn't really need it. Still, it got the "I MUST have a magic bullet" out of my system :rotfl:0

We've just been given a Magic Bullet:j but I'm really disappointed with the recipe book that comes with it , so I was wondering what people that cook properly (from scratch) use their MB for.
Have made some v. yummy smoothies - but theres got to be more to it than that.
Thanks

I've got one of these because I move a lot and wanted a small blender ... tbh it's not really all it's cracked up to be, in that the motor is a bit too underpowered to make anything more than smoothies. I do use it to whip odd bits of cream, and make onion/garlic/chilli pastes for curries but it does tend to have big lumps in it. It's also fairly handy for 'grating' parmesan, although again you do end up with lumps. I haven't really tried many recipes from the book, but I have been disappointed when I've tried to make the fruit sorbets etc, there's no way it can handle those!!0

We make smoothies in ours every day, but I also use it to whip cream, make breadcrumbs, liquidise HM tomato sauce/soups, chop herbs, chop onions ONLY if I want them invisible/liquid, grate carrots. D/K about any recipes - the only thing I would think of making in it is mayonnaise. I treat it like a convenient-sized food processor, so use it for all the small jobs I can't be bothered to get the fp out for. We make smoothies in the big jug thingy, but everything else is in the small jar. I bought a load of double cream after Christmas marked down to 10p per pint in Tesco's and used the magic bullet to turn that into yummy HM butter. Very successful and quick!0
