Magic Bullet - convince me I need it

I was looking at Prima magazine this evening and noticed that they have the Magic Bullet mixer/blender type thingy on offer. I remember seeing something about it ages ago (can't remember where) and wondered if any of you have got one of these and if it is as good as it sounds. I've already got a food processor and a Kitchen Aid blender (which is a pain to clean for small bits). Can you convince me that I need a Magic Bullet? (I confess to being a bit of a gizmo addict).

We've got one. Ours is called a merlin but I'm sure they are the same thing.
Its the only thing that we use daily in our house and we've had it for over 12months.
I threw my food blender away not long after we got it. Its fab.
If my cheese sauce goes a bit lumpy a quick whizz smooths it out. My husband even makes the cheese sauce in it. I dont know how - he watched them do it on one of the shopping channels :rotfl:
My daughter doesn't like lumps in pasta sauce so I make a pasta sauce and whizz her portion.
I blend soup in it. I make a smoothie every morning in it. My daughter makes herself a milkshake in it.
I could go on and on.
Its all dishwasher safe so it gets chucked in there sometimes but most of the time it only takes a quick wash under the tap.
Ours came with lids for all the containers so what you dont use you can store in the same container in the fridge. This is so convenient.
The containers that you use to blend the stuff in are such handy sizes and we also got a big jug with ours too.
You can also use all of the containers in the microwave which again is really useful.
ooooooo, I love ours
Give me a yell if you have any questions.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
Oh wow!!! Thanks quackers. That has convinced me. Especially the 'throw it in the dishwasher bit. Thank you so much. I must say that I find the 'big' food processor and blender useful but a bit of a bind for single portions etc. Sounds good and on your recommendation I am rushing off now to order one!0

 What if you dont like it?
Please dont ask me for my address - I dont want you knocking on my door for a refund
If it comes with lots of containers, which I'm sure they all do, then you'll love it.
I hope you and your magic bullet get on fineSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
They had the proper Magic Bullets (complete with all accessories) in the QVC shop in Warrington for £19.99 last week. At that price, they're unbeatable so we got one. Great for making smoothies, even better with a shot of vodka in them! I wouldn't say they're worth anything like the RRP of £60-70 though.I really must stop loafing and get back to work...0

 My thoughts would be that if you need to be convinced that you need it then you don't......However I don't know what one of these magic bullets is so I could be spouting a load of rubbish....or is it the wine??? :beer:I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0

We have a stall in the local market that sells ex catalogue and Argos stock, they were selling them for £12.99. I have to admit I was tempted but couldn't justify yet another gadget.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
i have one i got for £20 and use it all the time.. its great u can just stick it in the dishwasher and its so small takes up no space in the cupboard
i wouldnt say its worth the £40-50 they charge on the shopping channels but well worth it at less price.
i make frappucinos in mine, cocktails, grind coffee beans, mix up omelettes etc etc... one thing tho be careful it can be alittle strong at times and things can end up as mush... its better to use it on pulse

I bought mine on ebay but I dont get on with it at all. It just seems to produce mush with a few big lumps rather than something finely chopped. I think i may have just been expecting too much from it. Its too fiddly as well i think, with putting everything ion the lid & then attaching the motor bit & turn it up the other way. I got on better with a normal food processor that i had years ago which OH gave away ( his is so useful, not). However it was on ebay so although its a waste it could have been worse !
Hope this help

There is a shopping Channel called Thane Direct and when I'm in one of my channel hopping moods, I also seem to end up on the Magic Bullet demo - and I have been tempted to get one for ages, but the price tag always put me off.
However now you guys have mentioned them being available elsewhere cheaper, I'll try hunting one down. Does anyone have any weblinks?Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!
