Kitchens Direct keep cold calling me!!!!

It is highly annoying when I keep asking them to take my name off their list!

I wouldn't mind but I've got a new kitchen now and I have told them so! You would think this excuse would be the one to stop them from calling

Has anyone else being harrassed in this manner?

sign up with the tps - telephone preference service
next time they call , tell them you are registered and that they are breaking the law by continuing to contact you

all companies are supposed to check the tps listing to ensure they are not cold calling anyone who has registered
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)

Ask to speak to their data protection officer or department in charge of data protection and tell them you have asked on several occasions to be taken off their list but if they continue to refuse then you will contact the information commissioner.

Then write to them quoting the data protection act and ask them to remove your details.

JUST TALK TO THEM ABOUT GOD AND RELIGION IN GENERAL, HOW THEY FEEL ABOUT REINCARNATION, IF THAT DOESNT HELP, JUST KEEP THEM TALKING FOR AN HOUR ANHANGUP FOR NO APPARENT REASON. LEAVE PHONE OFF THE HOOK FOR A WHILE, THEN WHEN THEY RECALL YOU, TALK TO THEM IN A SILLY VOICE AND SAY REALLY WHACKY THINGS(MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A REALLY GOOD LIST OF THINGS TO SAY.)

rEPEAT THE PROCESS AS OFTEN AS NESSESSARY. EVENTUALLY THEY'LL GET THE MESSAGE, AND YOU CAN HAVE SOME FUN BEFORE THEY DO:rotfl:
  • Friend of mine lived in a third floor flat and got so fed up with a conservatory company phoning that he agreed for them to come and give them a quote - salesman was most annoyed when he came out expecting a sale to find it was a 3rd floor flat - needless to say, they didn't phone again!

i get a few of these and there really annoying, but instead of getting wound up i try and wind them up by asking them to repeat what they say about 3-5 times....... they soon get fed up and they put the phone down.

You could just say 'you would love a new kitchen but let me give you the name of the housing officer at the council who would need to pay for it'.

I'm on the TPS but people still keep calling and I have no way of finding out who they are and get the phone put down on me if I ask who they are.

So ...at the moment, I'm swinging between two standard lines:

I tell them I'm only the babysitter. I don't know when Mr and Mrs Steel, who work long antisocial hours, will be back - I'm just here and paid until they arrive back from work whenever that is. I'm not a family member. I usually get the phone put down on me mid-sentence by this time.

    or

I tell them I'm renting the property from a letting agent and have a contract not to change anything in the house.

The latter works well on cold callers trying to get you to sign up to utilities or have windows /sofit boards/roofs/driveways.

Invite them round so they can design a new kitchen for you. Let them spend 4 hours wasting their time with you. And when you get to the point where you are so bored you can't be bothered anymore, just tell them you only invited them round to waste their time. They will be really ****ed off and you can be sure they wont ever call you again.

Trust me it works, I've done it to them twice in different properties...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

My wife recently got cold called. She gently put the phone down and left it. We could hear the caller rabbiting on for some time before they realised that they were talking to themselves and hung up.
People must be desperate for a job if they are prepared to cold call for a living.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
