Sarahlou, some BCs are just a bit crazy like that. Do you really want one of the boring ones that do everything thats asked of them and behave perfectly? I like a dog with its own personality and a bit of spark. If he's happy, not aggressive, doesn't do his business all over your floor, you love him and he loves you, you couldn't ask for much more. Give him a big hug from me.
  • Border collies are a law to them selfs mine is just 1 and a half and is just starting to calm down now talk about hyper dogs :rotfl:. border collies are a great breed and take a lot of time and effort on owners behalf so if you considering one do not expect it to jump through hoops and round up sheep by 7-8 month .:rotfl:
    Today is yesterdays tommorow :)

I got my BC last week and today she has come in season she is only 7 months old. I know that a season usually lasts 3 weeks so how long will it be before I can get her spayed?

    Many thanks

Half way between seasons - so about three months time - be very careful about male dogs getting to her whilst she is bleeding and for ten days or so afterwards... do not even leaver her in the garden unnatended, as some males will scale or dig under fences!!

How is she settling in? When do we get to see photos??

We have a BC cross and two lab crosses. The BC cross is really smart - you can send her downstairs to "Fetch the red ball" and she'll come back with the red ball, not the black one. :T

The Idiot Dog has no idea what you're talking about, but knows the world "fetch" and saw what the BC did. He'll return with the first thing he comes across, usually abandoned shoes or something from the laundry pile.

Ask Fat Bob the Ginger Pup to do something and she just looks at you like you are stupid. For a Retriever she has no idea whatsoever. :o

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

We have a lab and labxcollie. The colliex is 12 mths old. She is full of it and very intelligent. She sits, stays, rollover, hi 5, fetch etc and has so much energy! She also gives the most human bear hug!

Thank you for that it will be just before I go on holiday then :) The dog next door is always after the westie when she's on heat so he might be sniffing around I don't like that dog anyway lol. She's settling in fine loving her walks to the park a good mile everyday for her. I'll post some photo's up at the weekend. She now wears a pink neckerchief with diamanties on lol she looks super cute.

So we have to keep her away from other dogs for about 4 weeks, thats going to be a nightmare. I don't like it when dogs are on heat its not nice I know it's nature though.

Well at the moment she's sat in her basket being grumpy because she can't go out I feel dead bad for it too :(

I only got her last friday I didn't expect it to be so soon!

It's best to not risk walks when in season, males can smell them from 3/5 miles away & may do anything to get to her. When Chaya was in season we just went out at midnight to the end of the road x
