There is a catch you cant keep the router until 3 yrs has expired

On termination of the Contract for whatever reason you will at your cost return the hardware to the supplier via our returns procedure within seven days. If you fail to return the hardware within seven days you shall pay us the current written down value of any item not returned (on the basis of a right down over three years)] which may be deducted by us from any refund due to you.

There banner advert says, Free broadband, 12 months free broadband, free hardware, no strings, honestly!

I'd call free hardware but you have to return it after 12 months a string, I'd call stay for a year or pay a termination fee, a string too. The question is what does the current written down value??? I suspect whatever they can get away with.

I already have broadband and a modem so when I opt for the £14.99 home option, I am eventually told my monthly payments will be £12.99. Sounds an excellent offer to me.

I decided to go with this £60 package last week as the max speed I can get is 512 and I figured anything would be better than dial-up.

The free modem, 2 filters, 2 cables and installation disk arrived in 2 days, and the service was active 2 days earlier than they said it would be. From sign up to connection took only 7 days.

I know that some subscribers were charged for the connection charge plus the delivery cost of the modem, but I have only been billed for £60 for everything.

For the money (and given that I couldn't get a faster service with any other provider), I think it's a great deal :)
  • Namesco have told me that subscriptions are good so far and they're planning to offer more services later on this year.

As far as I can see it's a clever offering that is certainly grabbing attention and new customers for what is an ISP with a good reputation.

I just can't work out how they manage to offer it without making a big loss per new customer, perhaps we'll see....

Can you advise where in the T&Cs it mentions about the router being chargeable if you leave before 3 years. I called Namesco sales who denies this being the case but he seemed a bit uncertain himself.

Personally this seems a good stop gap before Sky broadband decide to LLU my area......
